Café Rouge Southgate

The food is super delicious. This is our 2nd time here. Quality of the food is very good. On top of all the staff are super friendly. Berke is an amazing host. We are definitely coming back again and again.

Came in with my mum on Wednesday and was treated very rudely because we had a voucher. The waiter seemed annoyed serving us for some reason and made us feel very uncomfortable. We are customers and should not be made to feel that way. Try training your staff in customer service!

Came last night for a meal with friends, had a long wait for both mains and starters. My friend had to remind the waiter that we still had received kids starter we ordered when we arrived. Me and my wife went here last night told when we sat down that they had ran out of most dishes. We were given menus and left for half an hour. Tried to get the managers attention but she just walk straight past us with a face like thunder. Tables around were all having issues so after being there for nearly 45 minutes with no service we decided to leave. Won’t be coming back either

I have visited this restaurant several times and have always been greeted by a friendly waitress. Unfortunately, on this occasion and a few others, we were served by a male waiter who lacked basic manners and customer service skills. The chefs were seen walking out into the dining area to refill their drinks and the manager was spotted relaxing in the next booth, but it was clear that they were actually ensuring the staff maintained standards. The poor service really put a damper on the evening.

We went on Saturday night to the restaurant it was full but only two severs. After a long wait we managed to order our food, after half an hour the manager came to the table and told us quite rudely that there was no more fries and we had to have something else to go with our food. When the food arrived my boyfriends burger was cold and greasy. Mainly other tables seemed to be having issues as well. Where to start... the lack of staff, the poor service, non available items, rude staff. Took my husband and children here on Sunday and it was pure chaos. I’ve never seen a restaurant like it. Ordered our food after waiting 20 minutes for someone to take our order then was told after another 20 minutes that what we had ordered was not available. We asked why it had taken so long only for the female member of staff to giving us attitude. The food finally arrived but wasn’t anything special. Don’t bother with this restaurant they clearly don’t care about customer experience.

We booked this for our belated Christmas night out. Pre-ordered all of our food a few days beforehand. A lot of us ordered the garlic mushrooms starter. Was meant to be served with sourdough bread but unfortunately they had ran out of it. We were offered white bread as an alternative. But that was option we as to be taken literally. Our mushrooms came served on a slice of toast! Hilarious. Was I silly to think it might've at least been artisan in anyway or form? We're talking supermarket bread here. I have been going to this branch for many many years and have even written some great reviews for them over the years. However, this time after my last 3 visits I have to say it has NEVER BEEN THIS BAD! We went Boxing Day with our family who didn't want to go there in the first place. They were understaffed (only 1 waitress), despite other managers etc. being present at the same time and who could have helped her but chose to just ignore our complaints.
