"Le bib gourmand de cette maison pourrait fort bien être remplacé par un macaron Michelin, la fameuse première étoile en tout cas était dans nos assiettes.Un accueil et un service en salle vraiment délicieux (ça commence), sympathique et chaleureux. Un jolie carte des vins, très variée sans être trop lourde, avec de très belles références dans chaque région et à des prix fort doux.Les plats sont, en plus d'être superbement beau, très élaborés, avec un gros travail et une belle créativité. A partir de produits de très grande qualité , les gouts, les textures et les saveurs sont vraiment un enchantement pour le palais.En prime le jeune et talentueux, chef Florent est venu discuter avec nous, il nous a ainsi confirmé le sentiment qu'on avait eu, que seul un très grand passionné peut produire une telle cuisine et sa gentillesse et sa modestie ont terminés de nous conquérir.Vraiment une des plus belles tables du Périgord et d'Aquitaine."Vaut le détour" comme dit l'expression consacrée."

"We stumbled upon this nice place while we were visiting the town of Beaumont du Perigord. We did not make any prior research (usually we are planning and looking for good places to eat) so we were just hoping to find something nice to eat, and this I must say was a very good surprise. Food was delicious. We had confit du canard and as desert we had the cake of the day which was an apple tart. To drink i had a glass of Bergerac which was from a local producer.Prices I would consider decent a bit lower than in other bigger cities around. The service was typical for small city, everybody is kind to you and would also get into small talk with you if you speak a bit of french. Not very fast, but on the other hand who is in a rush in their vacations :)If you plan to get here to eat don't come with very high expectations, the place looks decent but it is still a local business from a small city... but that makes part of the charm at least in our opinion. Do try the confit du canard as it was one of the best we had. They also have some menu of the day but since we did not try it I can't give an opinion. We would happily return here on other occasions."

"Arriving in Beaumont early evening after a long drive on a very hot day, we were glad we had reserved a table at this little hotel's restaurant. Through the front entrance door, there is an interesting-looking bar area and then a comfortable dining room - but we were pleased to be shown to a table on the shady flower- filled terrace at the rear of the hotel. Aperitifs of good Kir soon arrived plus some freshly- baked olive bread then an amuse-bouche of a delicious cold carrot & cumin soup. We chose from the cheapest (€17) menu and were not at all disappointed with the food that was delivered; especially appreciated was J's supreme of guinea-fowl in a filo wrapping but everything was good. Our server (I guessed it was the lady of the house) was friendly and helpful and tolerant of my rudimentary French. She recommended a nice rose wine from nearby Bergerac, reasonably priced and perfect for the evening. Later in the week we returned for more of M. Denance's tasty food, this time choosing from the €25 menu. This was even better than our first visit, the olive bread this time also had tasty lardons inside and Madame remembered which wine we had chosen earlier in the week. The food gras "mi-cuit" was good, the dessert of parfait glacé absolutely delicious but the main course was the star. During several visits to Perigord, I have eaten Confit de canard on countless occasions - but none was better than the ones we both enjoyed here. This restaurant is highly recommended and we shall certainly be eating there on our next visit to this attractive village."

"We booked two nights here after a disastrous air bnb booking 20 miles away, and seeing as we were planning on spending time in Aubeterre, it made sense anyway.We booked through booking.com, all of which was a simple process at a reasonable rate.Staff and check-in were great, the only thing that we thought let it down was the room. Tired, springy mattress and lumpy pillows, not particularly brilliant.There was also a fan provided in the bedroom, which honestly wasn't worth having - on high speed I think I could fan myself better!We were in room 9 just at the top of the stairs.Now - on to the rest of the hotel - the pool area - simply gorgeous, it transports you from the old town of Aubeterre almost away to somewhere tropical with its great selection of banana trees and other tropical plants.The restaurant and bar area were also very nice to look at (although we didn't eat here)Overall a 3 or 4 out of 5 - just some work on the rooms to make this a truly fantastic place to stay.I have gone for 4/5 as the pool area and surroundings are what make this great."
