"Today, I had a disappointing experience at my favorite coffee and ice cream spot, Babbacombe. I encountered a staff member with a very rude attitude. It was a cold and windy day, so I just wanted to grab a coffee to go. As soon as I walked in, the female staff member didn't even greet me and immediately asked if I was looking for a table. I informed her that I was just there for a coffee, and she responded harshly, saying they were full. Her unfriendly tone made me feel unwelcome. She even mentioned that there was no space for my pram, which I felt was unnecessary since I was only out for a walk with my 2-month-old baby. If she had been more polite, I would have understood the situation. The way she handled it was very unprofessional. I used to highly recommend this place, but after this experience, I am unsure if I will return or suggest it to others. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their customer service."

Excellent service and food! Our young waiter was extremely professional and will go far! Delicious soup, sandwiches and scones. Despite them being very busy we were given prompt attention very well run.

I love this caffe, but it now looks a little tired, needs a makeover to compete with the babbacombe downs caffe. eating was good, but again the presentation must sort was a bit like a cafeteria. such a fabulous position, they do it justice!

The food was delicious. We arrived around 10:30 and found some available tables on the upper floor. The breakfast was served quickly and we really enjoyed it, especially with a nice view of the sea. However, when we left, we noticed that the staff seemed overwhelmed.

I visited the restaurant on Tuesday for a casual meal. I was seated on a comfortable sofa with beautiful views downstairs. The service from a very friendly lady was quick, and I didn't have to wait long for my cheese scone and latte. Both were delicious, and I would definitely come back again.

The restaurant is situated in a beautiful, elevated location with stunning views of the bay. The food is great and unpredictable, followed by delicious homemade cake and good coffee. Guests can enjoy the balcony and cozy covered terrace. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is wonderful. What more could one ask for?

my dogs and I love to come to their cafe for a cuppa with beautiful prospects under their cool sunshades. I must say today, all their young waiting staff were brilliant, all extremely efficient, pleasant, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly for all their customers of all age groups. they were all very good at cleaning and cleaning their tables. I would especially like to mention the young man with the curly hairs, he was so nice to an older lady on her own, it must have made her day. please praise them all they love.

The food at this restaurant was delightful, and the view was stunning. The staff were fantastic; we were served by two young men who were friendly and incredibly patient, despite being interrupted by a very rude man at the table behind us who was upset that his coffee had gone cold while he was trying to get a good connection on his phone. The staff remained professional and handled the situation well. The food arrived quickly and was delicious, although a few items had run out as we arrived just before closing time. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area, especially if you have just made the trek up the hill from the beach.

"From the off, everything was bang on point. The warmth of the welcome, being taken straight to our table and offered water and an aperitif promptly. We, a party of three, opted for the set lunch, which offers very good value for money. £29.50 for two courses, £35 for three, with two options for each course. Two of us opted for the baked Roscoff onion with pearl barley. Simple ingredients but beautifully cooked with a truly sublime brown onion sauce of such intensity, it lifted an already lovely plate of food to another level. The other person had the ponzu cured mackerel which she pronounced lovely but she had serious food envy over the onion dish. The main courses were grilled hake, which again was sauced to perfection and a grilled bavette with a vegetable medley and a pea? puree and a meat jus. We added a small dish of dauphinois at £5 which complimented everything very well. We drank a good and reasonably priced Rioja Blanco. No room for dessert sadly. This restaurant is not cheap but there is a difference between cost and value and The Elephant offers very good value with the set lunch; it allows you to sample really very good cooking at a price that will not break the bank. The normal a la carte menu is around double the price but on looking at what this offered, I would say that it again offers good value for money, being a step up in choice with more expensive ingredients. This is a serious restaurant. Go there. You will not be disappointed."
