"The Cloisters is the main restaurant inside the gothic style Nutfield Priory Hotel. The location is fabulous and we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks on the terrace overlooking the Surrey countryside. Once inside we took the 5 course tasting menu. Generally the dishes were good, nicely presented with interesting combinations of ingredients, such as salmon ballotine with air dried cherry tomatoes. Fabulous. We also ate on another night and enjoyed the richly flavoured beef mosaic and the tomato carpaccio with butter bean caviar which was rich and imaginative. The overall experience is let down by the chaotic service. There is something wrong with the staff organisation, because despite lots of very friendly and helpful waiters dishes took ages to arrive, were incorrect or for other diners. Examples included a meat amuse bouche, despite us requesting a pescatarian meal, the waitress asking if we had enjoyed our starter, even though it had not been served, being given someone else's wine, then their main courses, and so on. I'm not sure if it was because of the service issues, but too many of the hot dishes were guily of being slightly dried out, which suggests they had spent too long on the pass. I think the staff are new, so hopefully once teething issues are resolved this will be a great place ot eat."

The food for both the breakfasts and dinner were outstanding. Exceptionally polite and helpful staff and nothing was too much trouble.

My wife and I dined at this restaurant, during our recent break in this area. The presentation of food was high, and while the choice was a little limited the dishes tried (starter and main) were tasty and of a good standard, with a British produce focus.

Fabulous Sunday lunch for a family special ocasion. beautiful food, so well looked after by the manager Abdul who couldn't do enough for us even though they had a huge private event going on. Stunning views, incredible service from all waiting staff who looked after my 11 year old son and pampered him. Highly recommend.

We love the Nutfield and It’s our go to place if we want to feel special but something has gone horribly wrong and although the prices have stayed the same, the service was terrible. Our pre dinner drinks came without any snacks etc and dinner menus were requested but didn’t arrive until our glasses were empty and we had to ask again and several times during dinner we had to ask for refills. Sadly we won’t be back.

Exceptional food, we chose the Taster menu with wine pairing. The only criticism I have is that the dishes were not explained to us, I had to get the menu to remind us what we were eating, as too with the wine pairing, it would of been nice to know why it was chosen etc. The restaurant was very quite so lacked atmosphere. Hopefully this review will help with educating the staff and encourage people to go to add to the atmosphere, would definitely go again just for the food.

When booking a room, there is an option to add a set meal add-on at this restaurant. Unfortunately, it is expensive and the website misleadingly suggests it is the same as the premium set menu. However, the reality is that the meal provided is quite poor in comparison. It felt a bit awkward to receive such a different and inferior meal compared to other diners in the restaurant, especially after already paying for it. It seems like a tactic to increase profit margins. A simple solution could be to make this menu available on the website with all the others, ensuring transparency. However, this might discourage bookings. Additionally, the wine selection was not impressive and overpriced.

During our stay at the hotel, we dined at the restaurant and both opted for the French-inspired 5-course tasting menu. Each course was complemented by a fantastic selection of French wines. The bread with sundried tomato butter was a delightful start, followed by onion cream soup, duck liver pate, a delicious beef steak, sorbet, and tart tatin. The dishes were not only flavorful but also beautifully presented. The staff were polite and efficient. The only downside was the lack of atmosphere in the restaurant. It felt dull and cold, reminiscent of a dark corridor on a winter evening. Perhaps in the summer, diners could enjoy a beautiful view of the South Downs, but unfortunately not at 7/8pm...

We booked here for our wedding anniversary and it far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived the warm welcome and attention was 5 class. The drinks lounge was cosy and candlelit and we received lovely snacks to accompany our drinks. My cosmopolitan was the best! The restaurant itself is stunning. In daylight you have views out on to the Surrey Downs and in the evening it is candlelit and inviting. The service here is impressive with everyone playing their part in making your experience with them one to remember. The food was superb. The thrice cooked chips are worth a mention on their own. My husband is a passionate carnivore whilst I am vegetarian. The choice was extensive an...

A number of previous reviews have stated how poor the afternoon tea was, most with responses from the establishment stating how sorry they are, and that they will pass on the comments to the relevant departments! This is obviously not being done. The afternoon tea is a disgrace. Freezing cold, obviously made in the morning, or even the day before!?.You get better sandwich’s from the Co-op!Then they have the absolute nerve to charge a fortune for it! Nearly £70 for 2!The place is obviously making an absolute killing! As they don’t need to concern themselves with the food, as the weddings here cover all their overheads!!?It’s a shame as the property has a lot of character. But if your looking fo...

"Tarana Review of Tarana restaurant Lingfield , location is very prominent , on the main High Street. The restaurant can be easily be seen on the high street after passing the roundabout as you enter the high street . As you enter the front door , you quickly realise it’s so large in size and very spacious with colourful lighting. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated with a wow factor , great ambiance . As you walk through there is lounge bar area on the left to enjoy a drink before you are seated to your table. Tonight we are here to dine and enjoy the Dua Lipa live tribute singing and dancing so great atmosphere here tonight ! They have a wonderful range of cocktails non alcoholic and alcoholic with exciting range of drink menu . Great if you’re driving and not in to alcohol , the choice is unlimited unlike your usual typical indian with basic soft drinks . There is dance floor to do some hip hop or just slow , choice is yours! We have been to most of their restaurants and it’s “simply the best” in terms of entertainment food and drinks . The prices are very reasonable for what you get from them and service is wonderful with a smile King prawn butterflies appetisers and king purree , wonderful and nicely flavoured, served with designer chillies and salad . Main courses , Tiger Prawn biryani King prawn biryani duck biryani with side dishes of fresh bindi bhaji sag bhaji tarka dall wow ! Simply mind blowing food "
