"My fiancé and I visited Costa in the seaside town of Frinton on sea on September 4th. As a regular customer at Costa in London, I was shocked by the condition of the shop there. The toilets were particularly dirty and the customer service was below par. We ordered two chocolate fudge brownie frappes, but noticed that there was excess frappe leftover in the jug after our drinks were poured. Instead of saving it for another customer, the employee filled the jug with tap water and poured the leftovers down the sink. We were disappointed by this wasteful behavior and found it unacceptable. We even took the time to check the cameras and it was between 15:10-15:20. We attached a picture showing the state of the toilet for reference. This was our first visit to the location and we will definitely not be returning. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Take out meal costing between £1-10 per person."

I have not visited this restaurant yet, but I have heard that the toilets are clean and the staff is friendly. However, it seems that Costa needs to look into why the staff appear to be unhappy, as this seems to be a common complaint among other reviewers. This particularly applies to the tall man.

We have just been refused a coffee and a cake because the over zealous member of staff, Jocelyn, ordered me to show my track and trace green tick. I had already carried out the track and trace request but the manner in which confirmation was demanded was unjustifiable, unnecessary and contrary to good customer service. I had no idea Costa are training their staff using Stasi methods. Having supported Costa for many years we will never return.

I have to say I’ve been in this costa a number of times and found it quite dirty. The floor needs a good clean, the window ledges are dirty along with the wood work and rails as you walk in. Cobwebs by the window that are also dirty. The chairs are fit for the tip which are stained and dirty. I thought it would have been improved since I last came here sadly not. I had a great experience at this restaurant. The service was excellent, the coffee was perfect, and the toast with marmalade was delicious. The seating area was clean and well-organized. My only suggestion would be to add thicker cushions to the chairs for more comfort. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for brunch. The price per person is between £10-20 and the food and service both received a 5-star rating. The atmosphere was rated 4 stars. I recommend trying the croissant and vegetarian options are clearly labeled on the menu. There is plenty of free parking available.

I am sorry to say that upon walking into the restaurant, I noticed that the tables were still full of dirty cups and trays. I took it upon myself to move them before taking a seat. The tables were visibly dirty and in need of cleaning. The cafe was not busy, making it easy to spot when someone vacates a table. I believe it is important for the staff to clear and wipe down empty tables promptly. Additionally, the fabric seats to the right were very stained and dirty, prompting me to decide not to stay after cleaning up. This took place today on 27/10/23. "We came as a group of 10 for my Mother in Laws 60th birthday, and I must say it was a shambles. Please let me say, that we have been many times prior to this and have had excellent food and fantastic service, so not sure what has happened. Firstly, my Father in Law had to pay a deposit for 12 of us, which was absolutely fine, however, one of those was for a baby who would not have been eating. Unfortunately the mother and baby were unable to attend due to illness, so we lost £10 of the deposit. I would like to Firstly ask, why was we charged for a baby, who was never going to be eating? Secondly, we asked for a pitcher of beer, and when this was served, we were given 3 (out of 4) of the most dirtiest glasses. The beer from previous drinkers was still in the bottom, hence the staining of brown at the bottom of the glass. This is totally unacceptable, and this could actually cause serious health issues to people drinking from them. The waitress brought the first two starters out, prawn cocktails, and dumped it infront of a parson who didn 't even order it, and even after we told her who they were for, just left it there.....would you not have picked this up and actually served it to the correct person? The prawn cocktails came out on a slate and as much as this was very nicely presented, knowing that someone with only the use of one arm had ordered this, it would have been a better option to put this on a plate, so food could be scraped to the edge of the plate and picked up. Rather than a husband having to put his fork up against his wife 's and juggle getting the food on. That 's just a food for thought, incase you have anyone else in this position in the future. We then had the mains served. Out of the 10 orders, were four full racks of ribs. One of these came out as a half. We asked the waitress if this was correct and she said, sorry, she would get the other half out. This came out AFTER the person had finsihed their dinner, which meant they had to take this away in a take away box. Seemed like there was no urgency to correct the error immediately. The burgers, I am sorry to say, are an actual joke. The burgers themselves looked like the small ones you get from Iceland. But yet, are being charged at nearly £14. That was shocking. The chips, were edible, but burnt. And again, please think about putting it on a plate (or atleast asking the person eating it what they would prefer) and not a wooden chopping board. A chopping board is for chopping after all...... We then asked for our cake to come out, so we could sing happy birthday and blow the candles out. We got told yes no problem, but you will be charged £2 per person for eating there at no point had we mentioned we wanted to eat it there and had actually already mentioned this prior to handing over the cake. We opted not to have a dessert as we felt quite deflated to be honest. When the bill came out, I asked if the 3 for 2 drinks had been deducted and she said no, thats only Friday 's . I think you need to make that clearer on your menu, as it just states Monday... Tuesday...etc and the Friday 's. But your drinks deal just says Evenings you need to amend that to specifically say Friday evenings as it is in fact false advertisement on your part. The bill came up, minus the £50 deposit (still baffled why you charged £5 for a baby) and to my surprise a £27 service charge. I asked for this to be removed, as I find this quite shocking to put on any bill. A service charge is not a given, it is a discretion by those who are paying. You cannot expect anyone to pay a service charge if they feel the service has not been up to scratch. As I previously said above, we have been here multiple times before and always had great service and exceptional food. Last night, just was not the same. It is a shame, as we come here for birthdays and we will be thinking twice now, due to the above."

"Wow! After attending a wildlife talk in the nearby hall, my group decided to treat ourselves with another talk scheduled for the afternoon. We were pleasantly surprised by the hidden gem that is this restaurant. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and we both decided to try the fish bake, which was absolutely delicious. The dish featured cod, salmon, and smoked haddock in a flavorful cheese sauce, accompanied by perfectly cooked fresh vegetables. I enjoyed a decaf latte, while my friend opted for a pint of pale ale. The prices were very reasonable, and we were so impressed that we have already recommended this place to our friends. We plan to return and spend a day exploring Holland, as we are not local to the area."

"Brilliant food karen is great especially with my dog Molly if I’m not careful she’d take her home. Karen’s a great asset to this cafe. Always a great smile and welcome. Food comes out quickly molly likes the dog sausages. One thing I’d like to see is umbrellas if weathers not windy as now weather is changing there’s always a chance of a shower and then your stuck eating when it’s raining. But I couldn’t fault this place 10/10 not sure when it closes for winter I will ask girls when I next see them Karen here’s a photo of molly I think Karen will know who molly is"
