At home we set the table restaurant style, with Italian classic music and quite frankly this is the best thing we’ve had this year.COVID-19 lockdown is so difficult and all we have to look forward to is food and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal tonight and would Recommend you to try some of this wonderful food. "Popped in here a month ago to see what the place was like... Peaceful and cosy, there are lots of little knick knacks to look at and some are even for sale! We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we left. Overwhelmed by the choice of cakes on offer on the counter, I wished to try the afternoon tea, so we had to forego the beautiful creations for the three tiers of delights brought out on the stand. It was so delicious, I immediately booked for a table of 10 to celebrate my Mother 's 80th birthday. This fell last week, and we had the perfect afternoon with high tea for all. After glasses of non alcoholic prosecco for all, we were served the freshest, most well filled sandwiches (salmon and cream cheese, perfectly seasoned egg mayonnaise, and cream cheese, cucumber and chive ; just baked scones with cream and proper strawberry jam (not, as my Mum pointed out, red jam, but strawberry jam like they used to make, where you can actually taste the berries! ; and a selection of cakes, macarons, mini eclairs, and sherry glasses of a fruity mousse, topped with fresh fruit and gold lustre. The crowning glory was a cake so fresh it refused to stay in one slice as my Mum tried to portion it! (Please note, this was purchased/arranged as an extra. The tea was hot and plentiful and was refreshed over and over. The two gentlemen who man the shop are the sweetest most friendly chaps ever. As others have mentioned, they are both deaf, but this doesn 't hinder anything indeed I even made sure I leaned a few key words in BSL, which I 've loved and I was taught a few more whilst I was there as well. Everyone said it 's an absolute gem and I believe everyone has plans to return. I will definitely be going back, as I want to try more of those cakes!! Thank you for making a very special day absolutely perfect. An absolute credit to the village and surrounding area! <3 x"

"I tried to order some food over the phone on 3/10/23 at approximately 12.20 am for lunch. Unfortunately the person who answered the phone was incredibly rude to me when I asked some questions about their menu as I am looking for some typically Keralite food and not just dishes from a bog standard Indian takeway. She told me she had no knowledge of Keralite food and stated I do not need to know about Keralite food as it is written in the menu and we are in England anyway . If you insist on employing staff who have no knowledge of your cuisine being served, at least teach them to be polite and not racist when informing customers of their lack of knowledge. I suggest you sack this staff member."

"Me and my boyfriend visited la fiaba on a Friday night. The server we had was absolutely lovely and I believe her name was Chelsea. She was so lovely and made this experience wonderful. The food was nice but not amazing especially for the price. When I asked Chelsea if the tip would be going straight to her, she said yes. Which is what we wanted as her service was impeccable. Later on our server changed to a blonde man who I believe was the manager and I assume Chelsea had finished her shift. When the time came to pay the bill, we asked if the tip could be given to Chelsea as we were beyond impressed with her. He then replied saying that the tip would be shared out with the rest of the staff. Which is not what we wanted but we carried on. The rest of the staff which were sitting around the bar just chatting away. This is not what we expect to see. I understand that you might not be busy at all times but they were just sitting and chatting away throughout the evening. The blonde man (who I will refer to as the manager) was also part of this group and only moved when he became our server. Forgive me if I do not want my tip to be received by a bunch of lazy men."

"Nice cafe, usually has a nice atmosphere. Sadly only one vegan option on the menu (a sandwich) and is was served with coleslaw which after asking we were told has egg and milk in it. I ordered the sandwich once and it had margarine in it. Not sure they really understand what vegan means! Not great. Vegan cake options are very unappetising. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"
