"Venturing into The Dog and Duck on a recent Friday night turned out to be an unforgettable experience, thanks to the karaoke extravaganza that unfolded within its lively walls. This unassuming pub, transformed into a haven for music enthusiasts and karaoke aficionados alike. The ambiance at The Dog and Duck was electric, with an infectious energy that swept through the crowd. The dimly lit space, set the stage for an evening filled with anticipation and excitement. The stage, beckoned brave souls to take the mic and showcase their vocal prowess. The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the diverse selection of songs available. The Dog and Duck's extensive karaoke library catered to every musical taste imaginable, from classic rock anthems to current chart-toppers. Jodie The MC, a charismatic and witty individual, expertly managed the flow of performances, engaging the audience with humor and encouragement. The crowd participation was nothing short of spectacular. The atmosphere was inclusive, with both seasoned performers and first-time singers receiving thunderous applause. It was heartening to see patrons cheering on their fellow karaoke enthusiasts, creating a sense of camaraderie that is often elusive in many nightlife establishments. One of the best pubs I’ve been to in a long time! Beautiful decor, stunning beer garden and a lovely, happy and relaxed atmosphere. Bumped in to the owners and they couldn’t have been more welcoming. If I didn’t live in Scotland, I’d be there every night!

This is now our favorite restaurant. The owners are very visible and welcoming, always friendly. They work hard, interact with all their guests, and it shows in the lively atmosphere. The food is delicious, cooked fresh and made to order. I highly recommend this place.

We had a Christmas dinner before our Christmas quiz. The staff greeted us very warmly and provided excellent service. The food was also fantastic, with all six of us receiving our meals together and piping hot. They were also able to accommodate my dairy intolerance without any issues.

The service at this restaurant was excellent, especially on a busy Karaoke night. The bar staff, including Nicole, Joe, and Priyanka, were exceptional at providing amazing service. Despite not being there for the singing, we all had a great night thanks to the staff. Special thanks to Hannah, Zoe, and Sam. Visualizza piatti

I came with my daughter for a sunday lunch, and was served by a lovely young lady called Sarah. She had a great attitude and was very happy to deal with all of our needs. I have a dairy allergy and Sarah was very compliant and useful when ordering and patient with my fussy daughter!! She deserves to be recognised by management, I hope all other waiters act as she does!! Thank you Dog&Duck for your lovely atmosphere you have created for your customers, I will definitely be coming back! Visualizza piatti

This pub used to be good but not anymore. First the Menu is so disappointing… there is a limited choice of mains, no steaks, no pies. We ordered burgers and they were so bad! The chicken in the chicken burger was almost non existent as it was mostly batter, which was soggy and brown. The rest of the burger was very soggy and tasteless. Chips were nice and crispy. It is a shame as this is our local pub, the inside is still very cool and the team very friendly but I don’t think we will go back!

After trying the other local pub with food, we were told to try here instead. Well, whilst this place is certainly better maintained than the other local, it's still just as expensive. Decided to try the roast dinner. Wish I hadn't. What justifies the prices here? It's incredibly expensive for what tastes like packet food. The meat was full of fat and gristle. The potatoes were soggy. Veg was cold and the gravy was thin and unpleasant. Seems like the old saying too many cooks applies here. The one redeeming feature was the staff are friendly. It was so cold in there we kept our coats on. No Sports on TV, apparently the TV is broken. Not sure what it is about pubs in this suburb. You'd think...

"Posting on behalf of PeterfromSandhurst, who was limited to only review per month. As I was of the people on this visit, I agree with everything that has been said and whole heartedly recommend the Lord Raglan for family visits. On to...the actual review. visit, this time with six people comprising three generations aged (that day) to almost We agreed that we would just keep ordering one or two plates every minute or so and share them so we could all eat the entire menu, a bit at a time. Over hours and plates of food later the results were in, we had eaten the menu! The clear favourite by show of hands (from the little ones and the ladies) was the sticky toffee pudding (no surprises there). Choosing favourites after that was very hard indeed as they were all good. The haddock was excellent with a close dense batter that was both light but substantial (don’t ask me how) and closely hugged the good sized piece of fish. It held heat well, tasted good (both batter and fish) and remained crisp until the last bite despite not rushing to eat it. The chicken (breast pieces in the sharing platter and the smoky spicy thighs dish) were also great. Moist, very tasty but the thighs a tad spicy/smoky for the children (the smoky hit is pretty instant for a kid) but the adults all loved them, the crunchy crusted breast fillets were loved by all. The ribs were moist, delicious, plentiful and fell apart simply by looking at them. The meat board (usually a shared starter) scored highly again with the juicy pork leek sausages beautifully finished with scorched crispy skin just like the very best BBQs can manage but still wonderfully moist inside. Pulled brisket very juicy, still not sure what they use instead of butter but it works perfectly. The Korean chicken burger with kimchi was a hit with my wife (she hadn’t had kimchi before) leaving a nice afterglow without any blast of heat. She just read this and said “The sausages were delicious, I really liked those, next time I go, I am going to have sausage and mash”. Well that’s her bit done. Oh, and by the way, it was steak day (every Thursday it seems), and the steaks come as a package with chips, a sauce choice and a drink (soft or wine etc) at discounted prices, so we had a few of those too. Ordered medium rib eyes, held our breath, and low and behold medium rib eyes arrived (well done chef! And eat your heart out Miller and Carter). So if you are sick to death of places that can’t cook a steak properly, try here. I hadn’t eaten Mac and cheese for years but tried that too and found the cheese was great, had a real intense depth of flavour and lovely grilled crusty edges (that you pick out of your teeth for the next minutes mmmm). If you have the time to spend a few hours mid week with people you love in a quirky but relaxed atmosphere you could do worse than try this tasting menu approach to culinary socialising. The Staff could not have been more accommodating, despite the unconventional nature of our visit. Thank you Beth and Leah, you did an excellent job. I made a couple of remarks on my first visit about how I might improve things if I was permitted to stick my oar in and again. Bang, they had been implemented just two days later. Amazing stuff Lily (boss), you are a star. Any kitchen that consistently turns out dish after dish like this one does, has something going right. See you again soon."
