Fresh, creative and healthy food, surrounded by the Sanssouci Park. The service was quick and friendly, the price was reasonable.

Went trying to get lunch, one little outdoor seating area full but they have two other areas outside empty and inside was also empty. Waiter did not even acknowledge us while walking past several times and when did get attention just said no No apologies...or explanations as to why couldn't sit in other areas or even saying it's a minute wait or similar. Just a rude one word answer barely breaking his stride.

The tables outside on a sunny day are bliss and the food was pretty good too. Quite expensive but I guess you're paying for the location. The snag is the service. The staff seemed determined to avoid eye contact and everytime we needed something we...had to actively seek them out. Once finally seated we watched as other diners arrived and milled around waiting for attention and to find out if they could sit in another outside area which, peculiarly, was closed. The restaurant was once the home of the vintner for the adjacent vineyard.

If you are exploring Sanssouci Park, this is the place to eat! From the furnishings, the restaurant looks as if it might have a dress code, but in reality you can wear what you want which, in all probability, will be something suitable for...wandering round a large park. Although the menu on the website is in German only, English menus are available in the restaurant. The garden salad with marinaded vegetables (served with a choice of dresssings and bread) is fresh and delicious and the potato pancakes one potato, one sweet potato with cottage cheese are delectable. We found this restaurant by chance strolling from the Orangerieschloss to the Neues Palais in Potsdam, and just in time. It started raining heavily just moments after we went in. The restaurant is very beautiful both inside and out, and we were immediately seated and...offered drinks by a very pleasant waiter. Service was very fast and as the waiter saw we were struggling with the menu, he offered us one in English. I ordered a very German dish of schnitzel with a lukewarm potato salad which was extraordinarily good, and my son had the Boeuf Stroganoff, which he said was delicious. We really enjoyed the setting, atmosphere and service at this restaurant and would certainly recommend it.

We picked up here at close to in the afternoon looking for lunch, but all we could see were people tucking into giant ice-cream confections or drinking coffee. It took several minutes for the waiter to arrive to take our order and when I...checked with him that there was still hot food available, he looked at me in surprise and confirmed that, yes, we could still have a hot meal. We duly received our locally brewed beer and ‘traditional’ North German dishes, all of which were very enjoyable and no more expensive than it would have been in the town itself. The location was very pleasant, though the Germans have not quite got to grips with the outdoor smoking whilst sitting at a restaurant tab...

Friends took us to visit San.Souci Park in Potsdam and we stopped at the Drachenhaus for lunch. I am unable to comment on the standard of food and service we didn’t stay to find out! The appalling standard of customer service was to blame....Despite plenty of empty tables they were unable to provide a table for six people for lunch. We suggested pushing two tables together to accommodate us but that was a”push” too far. The answer was an emphatic no. We would have to have two separate tables or nothing. Our German host remonstrated with the waiter but the waiter was adamant, we couldn’t all sit together for lunch. The final insult when our friend informed the waiter that we were the customer...
