"Been here weekdays for dinner with my wife. The location can easly be overlooked as it is a very narrow entrance, and also really cosy inside. The menu is truely dominated by all kinds of fish there is a display near the entrance where...you can see the variety of fish on ice . We had as startes the mixed platter which was with all kinds of fish that was totally fried and served with salad. The starter was closer to fast food than the main dish. As main we had the Hamburger Pannfisch three sorts of filet: salmon, redfish and pollack with fried potatoes and a mixed filet platter salmon, redfish, pollack and codfish with vegetables. The fish was execellent as well as the sides, and that dish was far away from fast food . Overall a good experience with a little bit of slow service. So go there if you like fish dishes for very good prices and wont spent to much time at the restaurant starter and main were served within 25min after ordering . Dont go there if you are up for a romantic dinner the open kitchen is at the entrance and it smells really fishy... ."

Das Restaurant ist wunderschön eingerichtet. Es klein und überschaubar, die Bedienungen sehr freundlich und zucorkommend. Wir hatten ein drei Gänge Menü, es hat super geschmeckt.

Visit after reviews from TP. Very friendly and informative service. We ordered, and our friendly waitress advised us, and we cut down on the order - this saved us both money and food not going to waste.Beautiful fish, crispy potatoes - but hold on to your beer/glass when they clean the table :) Visualizza piatti

we ordered grilled calamaris (grilled calamari; 5.90 €;) scampi in garlic oil (shrimp in garlic oil; 7,20 €;) and, fish and chips to go with our beer. the garnels were served in a cast iron pot and were so hot – and still sizzling – that we had to wait for them to eat cool and they were delicious! the calamari were delicious and not too tough, and the fish and chips were fresh and well prepared.

about this local restaurant during a stay in the city part altona. we did not speak German and they did not speak English, but we could agree on the grill plate for 3 people. this was a real tasty bite with various types of white fish, salmon,...calamari and broken muscles, all cooked to perfection. it was more than the 3 of us could manage, with a nice selection of roasted veg and kartoffeln. good value to only 60 euro with 3 bear

Rundum zum Wohlfühlen mit richtig guten Fischspezialitäten zu angemessenen Preisen in unmittelbarer Nähe vom Bahnhof Altona. we went on Sunday at 15 o'clock in the afternoon. I made a reservation before, like 4 days in advance, so they knew before how many people we were. the food was okay, but our surprise appeared when we just finished our dishes and the guards said we had to pay because they waited more tables. I haven't finished my wein yet and we haven't checked the menu on desserts. she repeated herself twice, in pretty bad manners, and we left because we felt pretty bad. In summary, they cannot treat their customers like this, because today they have already lost 5. it is a pitty that restaurants prefer to fill all places and make as many books as possible instead of taking care of their customers....

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
