"Als ich zu einem Firmenessen hierhin eingeladen wurde, fürchtete ich ungelenk an Wänden aufgemaltes Pseudo-Mauerwerk und falsche Säulen. Ich konnte nicht falscher liegen, wie freundlich, wie modern! Die Küche hervorragend, ich hatte eines der besten Roastbeefs meines Lebens. Die Bedienungen waren aufmerksam, auch ließ sich der Chef und auch der Inhaber sehen. Service: Dine in"

"A cozy restaurant with friendly attentive staff. The menu lets the water go together in the mouth and as we sat directly on the kitchen, all the deliciously fragrant foods went past us. The portions are also difficult to create for good eaters and therefore the staff asks for taking the rest. We prepared a snack for the next day with small supplements. Everything is freshly prepared and the price/performance ratio is consistent. Reservation is recommended, best until 1 day before. We'll be happy to return when we're close."

"Wie waren wirklich jahrelang überzeugte Kunden. Trotz etwas dynamischer Qualität und teils etwas mürrischem Service war es meist solide... Seit geraumer Zeit allerdings ist es eher Zufall wann und ob das Essen kommt. Letzte Bestellung kam dann gar nicht an. Wurde über deren eigene App und PayPal getätigt und an einem (laut denen) offenen Tag getätigt. Nach 2 Std angerufen, ging niemand ran. Bestellung storniert am nächsten Tag, Geld zurück bekommen. Eine Reaktion oder zumindest ne Mail, nen Anruf auf die einfach ignorierte Bestellung erfolgte nie. Ich verlange nicht viel, aber irgend ne Reaktion oder nen geheucheltes Sorry wäre nett gewesen. Da das nicht die einzige negative Erfahrungen mit dem Verein war, ist Wamo ab jetzt gestorben für uns. Sorry Leute, geht garnicht. "We wanted to invite our neighbours for Sunday lunch recently and I searched high and low on Tripadvisor for that special Landhaus style place out in the Bergische Land countryside. Christian's Gasthaus seemed to be exactly what we were looking for. From Leverkusen the drive...out to Wipperfurth is ca. minutes if you cruise at a leisurely, Sunday pace. We arrived over a very rural road, finding the restaurant nestled in a small valley. So far so good. There was plenty of free parking outside which was also positive. Inside there was a warm welcome we were just slightly taken aback by the fact that there was only one couple having lunch we had the place almost entirely to ourselves at least for the first hour or so... The Sunday lunchtime menu was rather spartan but all of us were able to find something to eat. I was really looking forward to seasonal roast goose which was available as Confit de Gans with loads of chestnuts, red cabbage and Serviettenknoedel by the way I thought that the asking price of Euro for this dish was rather steep!. I found that it was all rather dry even though I asked for extra sauce. Others in the party had currywurst and Bratkartoffeln, Tafelspitze with the trimmings etc. My wife went for a dish comprising almost excelusively of Serviettenknoedel. She seemed to enjoy it... As we were tucking in to our main meal, rather surprisingly the place started to fill up. In fact by the time we came to order dessert were warned that there could be some time in briniging our food to the table particularly as a large group of family friends had occupied the back room. We weren't under any major tim pressure but certainly service was stretched as more and more people arrived for afternoon teacoffee and Bergische waffles. Seeing the waffles on the other tables prompted us to order them as well for dessert freshly made with loads of warm cherries cream. A coffee at the end did just the trick of rounding off a nice enough afternoon. At the end of the afternoon I came to pay and I think I bumped into Christian in his kitchen. He was keen to try out his English on me which was nice. What was a shock, however was the fact that he doesn't accept any plastic cards only cash. As our meal came to Euro this left me stunned. Fortunately I had just enough cash in my packet, but... So be warned you need cash to eat here"
