"We were recommended Fire and Ice as a nice place for a coffee break. It was indeed a nice place with comfortable seating in a nice location with a good view. However, trying to get a coffee proved to be somewhat of a mission. 4 of us arrived at 11.15 and sat in comfortable sofas covered in fur blankets and waited for the waitress to arrive. At the time there was one waitress behind the bar and 2 wondering around the restaurant with clip boards. The waitress behind the bar eventually came to take the order from some others who had arrived just after us, and then seemed to take forever to prepare their drinks. Meanwhile the other 2 waitresses had been joined by several others who were hanging around and chatting by the till, there must have been 7 or 8 of them - all looking very glamorous in their jeans, gillets and big sunglasses. We tried in vain to catch one of their eyes, but those large glasses ensured that their eyes were diverted well away from any customer actually requiring something. After waiting about 15 minutes a waitress came our way - success, we thought, but no she just put a reserved label on our table and told us that we had to leave the table by 12.00. No problem, we thought, we will will be well gone by then - if we can get some coffees, but she was gone before we had a chance to ask. After another 5 minutes waiting we called loudly to a passing waitress who reluctantly took our order. We waited and waited, but no coffee. All the while the gaggle of waiters and waitresses were all looking very important wondering around with their clipboards ensuring they never caught our eyes. The coffee arrived a full 30 minutes after we arrived, as did 3 of our friends. We knew we had to be gone in 15 minutes and so tried again to get more coffee for them. The order was taken at 11.55, and we felt sure that since the table was needed at 12.00 we would be served quickly - alas no. No coffee, but sure enough after about 10 minutes, now 12.05, a very agitated waitress with clipboard informed us that the people who had reserved the table had arrived and could we leave the table. We said we would be gone as soon as we had the coffee we had ordered 10 minutes earlier, and had a chance to drink it. She asked what we had ordered and scurried off to chase it. 2 more coffees arrived, were drunk, and we were ready to pay and leave. Could we catch anyone's attention to get the bill - no. But a waitress did come over - not with the bill but to ask to leave, which we said we were happy to do , but could we please have the bill. When it arrived - it had 2 coffees too many on it, as a new order had been put in rather than the 2 being chased up, so we had to wait again for someone to change it. We had the cash and the bill ready to pay - but noone was interested in taking it from us. Eventually we persuaded a waitress with attitude to take it from us and she took it to the till. However, she was obviously not qualified to use the till, and so she waited and chatted by the till with about another 5 waitresses, for one of them to process the money and eventually give us the change. By this time it was 12.20, so not only were we extremely frustrated, but so were the people waiting for our vacated table. The coffee when it arrived was lovely, but expensive. Some serious Customer Service Training is required here. The girls all looked lovely, but all had serious attitude. We do not appreciate being looked down at, and made to feel so unwelcome. They had no interest in serving us. We will not be recommending this place, and certainly will not return."

We visited on recommendation for a coffee, we were very disappointed in having to wait at least 20 minutes to order our drinks and then another 10-15 minutes for them to arrive despite their being staff around, we were not alone.

We booked a table for 11 of us for lunch so we could meet up with friends. We arrived on time but our table took over three quarters of an hour to be ready. When the food arrived it was good and I would thoroughly recommend the Pizzas but if you want a timely lunch then our experience suggests this is not the place.

This is a great apres ski spot just at the foot of Ariondaz as you ski in to 1650.Probably best getting there slightly early to get a sofa or table in the sun. We were lucky enough to get seats in the sofa area with gorgeous fur rugs and soaked up the afternoon sun.The drinks came quickly. The gin and tonics were served in gorgeous crystal glasses.Lovely atmosphere, cool music, happy hour from 4.30 - 5.30pm. Bonus!

Had lunch in here twice during our recent week in 1650. Also stopped in at 5pm for drinks. Live music, sunshine, free pizza during happy hour and good friendly service. The food was also great most of us ate the burgers and pizzas... There...is also steak, pasta etc on the menu so the choice is more varied than some other places. Looking forward to our next visit. If only you could reserve a sofa in the sun for apres ski!

Oh dear,it all went wrong at lunch. We arrived at the table and the host took our order for a bottle of wine, then disappeared we kept seeing her and she apologised for the delay, said she’d be back in a minute to take our...food order and would chase up the wine. After 25 mins waiting we got up and walked out. Place looks lovely as does the food, if you could actually get any Angela, you need to sort this as it’s your brand on the line. We went to le petite Savoyard instead and the food drink and service was impeccable

We stopped here a few times on our trip once for lunch and other times for drinks. The restaurant is part of a hotel. Lots of comfortable sofas outside , with warm throws and fire pits. It does get busy so make sure you book.A party of six had lunch and all dishes were great. The mushrooms on toast to start was lovely. Burgers and pizza were our mains. Portion sizes are big so ensure you are hungry. House wine is really good. We also had an excellent hot chocolate with cream. There is a great atmosphere and it's also a good place for après ski drinks. A great option for those in 1650.

Have come here for the past 3 years but this time we’re turned away for drinks. 7 of us skied down and we’re met by a lady at the podium, when we said we would like a drink she had to ask a manager... she...returned to say we couldn’t have a drink because they were set up for lunch... despite only 1 table outside being occupied, and plenty of room at the sofas where we usually have a drink. Their neighbour ‘La Rotisserie’ we’re happy to accommodate us. We will not be returning next season. us skied down and we’re met by a lady at the podium, when we said we would like a drink she had to ask a manager... she returned to say we couldn’t have a drink because they were set up for lunch... despit...

We booked a large table for lunch last week experienced a very average service. The greeting was great, we were shown to the table, all good so far ... then it just became too much of an effort. The terrace looked light on...staff to start with, which was worrying, then my concerns came a reality. It was hard to get anyone’s attention as staff kind of chose to avoid eye contact unless they wanted to deal with you. We were desperate for some bottles of water as the day was warm we had come straight off the slopes, but this took way too long ... in my opinion water should be set down on all tables immediately, along with the menus bread. We had to ask for bread when the bread basket was empty...
