We ate inside, and apart from wasps and flies around it was perfect. Staff friendly and efficient, food superb had pies!! Great value

A lovely setting, but there just weren't enough staff to deliver an efficient service. I had to chase up our desserts after quite a long wait. The member of staff I asked was quite brusque.

Excellent food, just a shame about some of the service. Drinks thrown on the corner of the table. Felt very rushed to order and pay the bill at the end even though no one was waiting for the table after us.

Beautiful pub in a beautiful situation on the canal. They have a few vegan options, as well as a few desserts, including some great sorbet flavors. I decided for the veggie balti pie as pies are what they are known and it was really delicious.

A very pleasant lunch with good company in a traditional English pub. Just a couple of minor comments: A steak knife was not provided with the sirloin. The wrong pie was delivered, but quickly replaced. We've been coming for many years and will return!

A lovely venue to eat and drink. Food was perfect. The only discrepancy was the wait for our food. Other people who sat down after us were served their food prior us. I had to ask someone after an hour of arriving,when our food was coming. Our booking was at 3pm. the food still hadn't come out at 4pm, hence me asking where it was.

Beautiful canal side bar with outdoor seating. Limited options on the menu, but all options were nice. We are a family of 6 and the children had all burgers and we had the Balti cakes. Everything really delicious, another cake option on the menu would be great! The children had to finish the brownie and the ice cream that was delicious and served warm. Would definitely return when you pass!

On the way north and in this beautiful country pub with its canal side location, cozy interior and huge gardens. We both had the vegan Balti pie, yum, scrumptious. The chips were enormous and wonderfully cooked. Did not have room for dessert, which was a shame as there were some delicious options. Great ambience, great location, good choice of menu. Pies were amazing I have never been tempted in past but decided to, in fact we all had pies. Wasn’t disappointed nicely filled and delicious. Only criticism would be the length of time taken between the main and dessert. We had to prompt for service and noticed another table were waiting too and they reminded the waiter for service. Had the sticky toffee pudding and again very tasty. The pub seemed to quietened down after 9pm, not many people left at all. This is a great location for a family outing.
