"In a 5-day stay in Cologne and as a lover of Indian cuisine, we had planned the Ginti. The visit took place on Monday to the beginning of noon. The reception was very friendly and cordial by the Lord of the House. The decor in Ginti is very modern, stylish, but also somewhat sterile and only very discreet supplements with Indian accessories. Young guests will probably find favors in the style of the institution. The place was still empty and so there was a chance to get a brief conversation with the mistress of the house. She brought us the menus, and there were Papadam with three from a culinary point of view pretty boring finished dives. We chose both a mango sauce as a drink that was thin and most likely prepared on the basis of a mango powder. Disgusting! I ordered as main dish Malai Kofta, vegetable balls in a mild curry sauce with ginger, garlic, almonds and coconut. This is not only one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it is also a dish that places higher requirements on a kitchen and therefore cannot be found in any Indian restaurant on the menu. In addition, quality and freshness can be well valued with this bowl. I ordered this dish with a higher sharpness, but not through the sauce, but ultimately through the vegetable balls themselves. The latter were produced excellently and their loose inner composition had the freshness of the preparation felt. This was undoubtedly a 5-star court. My accompaniment had opted for Tandoori King Prawn Masala, marinated royal cloves from Tandoor in a sauce with tomatoes, cashew nuts and raisins. This dish was also very tasty, rather mild and very generous in the number of shrimps. The rice was served unfavorably on an open bowl and had to measure any fragrance and aroma that could originate from cardamom capsules or spice cloves. After the main dishes were convinced, we were curious about the Indian ice cream, Kulfi. This came visually well over a carrot cut into slices, but could not be along tasteful. It was crystallized, little creamy and the aromas of the aforementioned mango powder were reappeared. Conclusion: a highly recommended Indian restaurant due to the excellent main dishes, but not yet matured in its culinary periphery. Therefore, provisionally three stars with an inclination to four."

"General A member of YouDinner recommended a visit to the “Limani” in Cologne’s Rheinhafen. In the conversation we had exchanged some favorite locals. At GG I also found two positive reports from well-known gourmets (The Borgfelder and tischnotizen . But Carsten Henn from the Kölner Stadtanzeiger reported heights and depths in his guest performance. Römer's restaurant report also speaks of a declining overall performance. In any case, a visit was urgently needed to make myself an image. Upstair Greek Mediterranean dishes belong to my favorite dishes. I am particularly pleased with Phaedra in the southern city. If the restaurant says, it would be open at midday from the end of March. It was good weather and we drove by train and bus to Cologne. Ambiente The location on the Rhine promenade is quite favorable. By public transport it is easy to reach; Cars can be parked in the underground car park at the Rheinauhafen (Rheinuferstraße in the area 7.02 or under Severinsbrücke. In front of the house squares are already flattering. The restaurant also has a very nice large terrace to the Rhine. A relatively steep staircase leads to the actual place. Entrance The interiors are kept dark. The seats are quite close together – almost like a long table. The furniture is kept in bistro style. Partial view inside to the counter Cleanliness Everything worked neatly well maintained. The toilets are in the basement. You have to leave the restaurant and get some steps down. A person ensures cleanliness; However, people also come from the street there. These will be asked to leave 50 cents. Service We had reserved by phone. The vaccination status was checked at the entrance. Our registration was not found in the list. The (probably chief in the service left us free space choice on the unoccupied places. We went quite far back because it was too windy in the middle piece, because we were passing through. The lady barely noticed us for a while and then passed the menu. It also remained relatively resolute and briefly bound later. Later men served – these were much more accessible and friendly. The card(s) A Din A Four Leaf was large and mounted on a wine bottle. That means the offer was quite clear. At the appetizers there was a larger (16 choices, main foods there were six offers. The wine map, on the other hand, was rather thick, diverse and well structured. A Dessert card is provided at the end. A basket (bamboo dish with bread was served. The crust was slightly pink and the crumb was airy, soft and somewhat absorbent. We found the olive oil on the table a little too. However, for tuning the sauce residues from the small appetizers it was quite good. Bread Three no dishes – for sharing – we chose from the Mezedes department. Fried mussels Beluga Curry lentils 13,80€ Climbs Baked feta cheese Peperoni tomatoes onions 8,20 € Cheese and tomato Smyrneika mint tomato sauce 8,80 € The scallops were definitely quite tasty. They were fried and still juicy inside. From the courts they were best in our eyes. The salad was fine, but I'm not standing on lentils. The cheese had been thoroughly grilled. The big tomato pieces were with dry oregano (I guess I'm fine. As a result, they received light heart notes, because otherwise the sweet alone would have kept the upper hand. The chopballs were a little seasoned. In the sauce they remembered Königsberger Klopse in consistency – but the sauce was of course not bright, but reddish. This brought the tomatoes. This was also rather neutral in taste. Grilled Dorade Romanesco Lemon Potatoes 26,80 € Dorade on the piece Dorade disassembled The Dorade was served on the piece. She also liked to be brought back to the kitchen to be fileted there. The fish was nicely tender and butter. Alone – we lacked a light wort. We find that the overall result would have been strengthened. From our point of view, the vegetables were definitely overgart. Too bad the pieces were so soft and their color and taste had lost something. The potatoes were soft, but relatively little tasting after lemon. Grilled lamb chops from the Karree Okraschoten Bratlinge 27,50 € Lamb The meat was wonderfully cooked. It was soft and juicy. A little more red stars would have been the highlight. The bone was clean. The vegetables had been cooked or kept warm for so long that it was hardly visible, especially the color had suffered. The potato halves were all – but are they already bratlings? Drinks Mineral water Taunus source 0,75 l – 6,50 € Malagouzia White dry (750ml winery Gerovassiliou 33,00 € Greek wine A fruity, pure white wine from the autochthonous Malagouzia Rebe. He fits well with the Mediterranean dishes. He promised us. It was a pleasant wine to drink at home. We forgot a dessert. Finally, there are quite many ice cream parlors and cafes in the area. price performance ratio Conveniently we did not necessarily receive food prices; but the wine was not too expensive. Conclusion 3 – if it results. Well, if someone invites me there, I'll go with you. Maybe not out of your own drive. But every place deserves a second chance – and if the resolute lady wasn't there, even more. Terrace with Rhine view The outdoor area also seemed quite appealing – so in summer on the terrace it is certainly quite pleasant. Carsten Henn has probably described the location correctly. (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it results again, 4 – happy again, 5 – absolutely again – after “Kuechenreise” Date of visit: 13.03.2022 – noon – 3 people My pleasure experiences are also included [here link]"

Tasso's Grill

Tasso's Grill

"Why do you drive from Bergisch Gladbach to Cologne Weiden, or, in other words, from professional traffic through the entire city? So the eternal search for the best Gyros has hit me there this time. Pampered by my “Lieblings Gyros Bude” in Cologne Buchheim, everyone else has a lot of difficulty. Nevertheless, the search continues. But back to Tasso’s Grill: When I found the way there I drove through the entrance to the yard. Even if you shouldn't take this drive with an excessively large car, I was surprised. Some parking spaces were available free of charge in the courtyard. This is certainly a clear plus. often means eating Gyros in Cologne means stopping in holding ban, running or parking ticket. So back through the entrance to the front and then in Tasso’s Grill. Outside there were some small tables with chairs. The one will like it, the other not because of the Aachen road and the associated traffic, yet nice that you can offer. Inside there is a counter and the area where the food is prepared. As well as a safe for more or less alcoholic beverages. At first, of course, I missed tables and chairs. But I've seen them on pictures. Then I discovered in the back but still a room with seating... : I then ordered a portion of Gyros with Pommes and Tzatziki. In addition to the normal servings, I find that you can also order a smaller 1€ and also an XL serving 2€. I must say that even the normal portion is completely sufficient for a good eater. A pizza Gyros also landed on our table. And then go to the seating area. Tables of different sizes, chairs and benches are available here. 1 table was used by the family, I think it was used here, next to a notebook, there were also various other things and school items. But maybe that's what makes the appeal. There's something familiar to the whole thing... : It didn't take long and the food came. Opticiously in any case made it pleasing for the first bite. And even this one did not disappoint. It was really delicious. Meat, Pommes, Tzatziki – it was fun. The only thing I'd like would be a slightly more vigorously seasoned meat. This is my personal feeling. Beverage prices are slightly higher than those of the “Gyros Buden” that I usually have. This is then compensated for again by the close and free parking. You can't complain. Although Buchheim is a bit cheaper, there are Tasso’s seats. And I've already got less performance at other restaurant for the same money or even for more money. At the bottom, everything fits together and I will certainly become a repeater. The only negative is the distance, but you can also combine it wonderfully with a stroll through EKZ Weiden. And if you're already in the EKZ, you should take a trip to Tasso's instead of visiting the local gastronomy, it's definitely worth it... So long..."
