Consistently great steaks - good atmosphere and good service! Recently moved location but new place still has atmosphere!

You can taste the best Argentine beef in Cologne at EL GAUCHO. Try that with the mixed salad, grilled corn and Flan with Dulce de Leche for desert.

It was really a good place to eat steak at that restaurant. Cooking and taste was perfect. Last time during my visit on Nov, 15 it was closed. I heard that they will move a new place, I hope they will be able to keep ambiance. Visualizza piatti

Best meet in town. All waiters with their expertise and charme will assure that your visit will be memorable. Try the bife de lomo, I consider it the best cut on the menu. Watch out that as of July they will change their business address.

Went with group of 10 and they did pretty well to serve us. I thought the starters menu was a bit limited and given the steak choice we should have just jumped straight to the mains. Steak was fantastic quality but beware all sides are extra.

Not bad at all! I heard from other visitors that it takes forever for the order to arrive in this Argentinian restaurant, but we had not had to wait for too long. With the move to the new location I think the place lost all of what made it special. No linger do walk into a cave directly to view the great grill and large skewers of meat.With the decor and atmosphere we also lost service apparently. It was painfully slow.At least what remained was impeccable stakes, with above average sides (have the baked potato, skip the broccoli).

The original El Gaucho at Barbarossaplatz hadn't comfortable seating either but this relocated place is even worse. Cramped tables and seats so you can hear all your neighbours' affairs and inflated stories. If you are seated on the high chairs you can try to cut your steak in shoulder height. Mine was a lot longer than medium rare, nothing special.There are better steakhouses in Cologne that don't have the walls studded with pictures of wannabe VIPs. Today's good steakhouses have quite different and inviting interiors . . . and offer better meat quality and service.

Amongst all the places I have been around the world, I must say that I never ate such a good meat in my life. The steak was so tender that you could even cut it without the need of a knife! The portion was quite good as well (400gr) very juicy and perfectly cooked. Good selection of wine and the atmosphere is also very "argentinian" style, with gaucho "accessories" and horse saddles hanging from everywhere. The Service was also good, very friendly waiters. People might think it is a bit pricey but it is definetly worth the money! The grill is placed right at the entrance so you can have a look at the guy grilling this massive pieces of meat on the grill. Visualizza piatti
