"What a find! Happened to find this gem on Google whilst working in the area. Booked it on what I later learned was the opening night for the new menu/restaurant side of the pub. The set up is quite unusual in that there is a typical pub bar area and a separate restaurant area so you get a separate food and drinks bill when dining in the restaurant, but it is very well run. The restaurant part was cosy and nicely decorated, and the service from the friendly waitress was excellent. Fantastic food, massive portions, amazing prices. We had calamari, prawn cocktail and deep fried brie starters all approx £5.50 each(from memory). All were hearty portions and perfectly cooked. We then had the lasagne with garlic bread and the steak ciabbatta roll with chips. All around £12 per main. The food was perfect. Huge portions of lovely home cooked food with a side of chunky chips. The bread was also absolutely wonderful and from a bakery local to the pub. We couldn't finish our dinners and were very full and happy customers! The chef/owner came out to speak to us after the meal and was so friendly and kind to us. He should be very proud. I honestly can't believe we had such a tasty and substantial meal at such a good price. I wish this place were closer to home but I will certainly come back and would advise anyone living close enough to go there and enjoy Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"It was an amazing place to have good food served quickly and tasted fresh, was very happy with the customer service and lovely family atmosphere, great place for celebrating occasions with friends and family. Would need to book as this place is usually very busy. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a flat surface in and out of the dining area, they have an upper floor in there so please advise when booking table if pushchair or wheelchair users are with you."

"Friendly staff giving great service and food came out quickly as we were there at a quiet time around 3:30 to 4pm. Sticky tables everything else was clean. I thoroughly enjoyed a halloumi baguette with sliced red pepper and a sweet mild chilli relish. Would have enjoyed it more with more relish as the baguette was a little dry. Hubby said his bbq chicken burger with fries and burger sauce was very nice. J20 juices were cold and refreshing. Server told us what drinks were available as they didn’t have a drinks menu and you couldn’t order at the bar, yet you had to stand at the end of the bar to pay."

"Much better than expected. The place looks a little run down, but to be fair they've only just reopened after a long lockdown. The staff were super friendly and approachable. The food was freshly made and great value. Simple pub grub but what's wrong with that? Keep the menus small and the food homemade! They allow customers in campervans to stay overnight, which is lovely and modern. The décor inside and out need a spruce up , but give them a chance."
