Gasthaus Zirngibl - Menu

We come here every two years and this place is always a confirm. Big portion, really good quality, right prices.

Ate here twice. Once in the Beer garden, the second time inside (Due to the weather). Each time the service was good and the service excellent. Good solid Bavarian food. There is an English language menu available if you need it.

Had a lovely meal here. Sat outside in the garden (beware of falling apples They have an interesting and extensive menu of Bavarian food. An English menu is available a d the staff are very friendly. The food was all very good. A nice experience.

We were looking for a good restaurant that offered Bavarian food and we were referred to this restaurant. Food was okay and can be shared by two. We sat outside and it felt comfortable. Servers were helpful and made an effort to communicate with us...in English.

We were traveling from Germany to the Czech Republic and we stopped in Bad Abbach to stretch our legs. We found this very nice Gasthof and we ordered typical German dessert they were very good and very nicely presented. The waiter was very friendly...and efficient.

We visited this restaurant twice in three days, just to check it was as good as we thought on first impression. And it was. Eating outside in the shady beer garden on our first visit we both had pork medallions with asparagus in a mustard...sauce. Lovely. On our second visit the weather was cooler and we ate inside in a wood panelled dining room. Unfortunately they had run out of asparagus, but took great care in helping us chose a different main course. So helpful and so cheerful. My wife even said that all the waitresses appeared to really enjoy their work!

We cycled into Bad Abbach hoping to find somewhere to get a pizza, and chose Gasthof Zirngibl because it was obviously the most popular place in town. Staff were super friendly and welcoming, spoke great English, and knowledgable about vegetarian and vegan diners. Menu was...surprisingly varied Jackfruit curry but the ambience very traditional; it worked and was also very reasonably priced. Topped off with their own hofbrau, I can’t think how it could be improved. Worth a stopover if you’re driving through on the and is only mins walk from nearby campsite (Campingplatz Freizeitinsel).

English menu available from lovely staff. Portions are generous (my starter of smoked venison with figs and goats cheese could easily have been a main). The menu is varied, with options for vegetarians or those who prefer fish. However it excels in its range of...meat dishes, especially venison and boar. For my main I had pulled pork and smoked venison burgers. Absolutely delicious and loads of it. Couldn't even begin to attempt to eat my portion of chips. This may sound like I'm damning with faint praise, but this was comfortably the best meal I've had in Germany to date on this holiday.

After a long day of cycling we had dinner in this place. It is a very pleasant beer garden maybe helped that day by the fact that it was a warm evening. There are many tables in the place but service is quick as there...are quite a few people serving. We started with local beer, the typical liter, and the followed with Aperol spritz. I think that Germans are missing on the beer fun with the strict purity laws they have. I fail to see significant differences between the breweries. We then chose dinner that consisted of half duck for my partner and a grillade of beef, pork and turkey for me. The turkey was a bit dry (OK, I suppose that is how turkey is) There were lots of fries with my grillad...
