Best Sunday lunch for miles around and once again Sue looked after us and our guests with her usual professional and warm demeanour. Also Richard fitted 6 of us in at short notice, and we very much appreciated that, thank you.

Absolutely excellent dinner at the G D. The menu is great hard to choose but all 3 courses were lovely. One of the best pubs meals in a very long time. Service was perfect very helpful friendly the team went above beyond to make it really lovely evening. Thanks all.

A lovely cosy place to have an excellent Sunday lunch. Super friendly and efficient service. The team serving us were very organised and nothing was too much trouble. We were a very large group and yet they still managed to serve us all and attend to any other requests. Super smiley. A lovely experience.

Absolutely fabulous cannot fault this place. Everything is on point the proprietor is someone that makes you feel like the most welcomed being on the plant!! My partner and I have visited twice in the past month once for drinks and most recently for dinner it is sublime. Lovely atmosphere briliant service thank you very much

Once again a delicious lunch with friends, one of whom was vegetarian and was catered for perfectly. By chance we met up with two sets of other friends, who all raved about this pub, despite not being local. We are always proud to bring our family and friends for an ambience and menu that are superb, with dedicated and efficient service. Thank you.

Thank you Susan the brilliant Maître d'hôtel. We were a party of 9 with kids and three dogs and celebrating a birthday as well. When I entered the restaurant, they could not find my booking and on checking my email, I realised I had booked it for the next week. Despite the restaurant being totally full, Susan still managed to seat us on the first floor. She was so warm, attentive and accommodating. If it was anyone else or anywhere else they would have turned us away. The food was amazing. The roasts were faultless. A mixed review.... I should start by saying I love this pub. Food is excellent, open fires are great, service at the tables is really good, owner is always very approachable, helpful and friendly. Sadly the bar area is very poor in comparison to the rest. One of the bar staff just ignores you (one of the mainstays), it takes 4 requests to get a dog bowl and i have regularly experienced (myself), and observed, people at the bar be ignored for over 5 minutes (while the bar staff prepare drinks for tables) or wait for 10 minutes to get served at all. Fifty friends gathered for their annual winter, sporting, late Sunday Lunch moving seamlessly to early evening celebrations. Richard and his young team know how to entertain a large group on what is already a busy December Sunday session. Going the extra mile is an understatement. His expertise and hands on approach generate a genuine feelgood factor in what is already an outstanding venue of historical importance. The George and Dragon has been my local since I was a young lad, as I grew up in Speldhurst. As such, I have seen it change hands many times,. It has however been a long time since I've seen the place running so well! The quality of the service, the food and the friendly staff and warm atmosphere make this simply one of the best places in Kent to spend your money. With this in mind, we decided to have our wedding reception hosted here. The G&D, as far as I'm aware, have not hosting weddings before.
