"I recently ate at the Horsham branch with my teenage son. We had a starter each. We had a main course. A older blonde lady took our order. Our starters came after quite a wait. When she took our plates the waitress said “you must have been starving you ate them so quickly” we had eaten them at a normal speed! Two small starters do not take too long to eat! After waiting for 20minutes I called over another waiter, he assumed I was asking for the bill, as we had been there so long. I said that, no, we were still waiting for our mains. The restaurant was not busy. He sent over the original waitress who took our order and she stated that because we were so starving and ate our starters so fast, our mains are on a timer and we’d have to wait! We waited 40 minutes from our starter until our main course. There was no apology for the wait. She just said that it was our fault for eating our starter so fast! I found this very odd and have never been given this explanation before. We will not be returning as I found her very rude."

Giggling Squid were happy to pull together a lovely take away birthday lunch for my 92 year old Dad today. Thank you for making the experience seem less.

I went there to eat on my own and discovered a real gem. I was well looked after by Natalie and the rest of the staff who were all lovely and friendly. Then there was the food. Wow, it was delicious, really really good. I had a brilliant cocktail to finish and left with a huge smile after a delightful experience.

Booking online was easy and the additional notes about the booking were acted upon which was great such as mobility issues for a couple of the party and not wanting to be under a speaker if they played music. Spiciness was toned down to our requirement for some of the party. Lily land the rest of the staff looked after us well, being friendly and attentive. Visualizza piatti

I have been in this restaurant many times but unfortunately the last two times it hasn’t been as expected… dry chicken satay, small portions, overcooked sticky rice… the yellow curry with crab and prawns wasn’t great, I only found half a prawn and no sauce… It is very clear that they are cutting costs and as a result the quality has decreased substantially. Doubt I will be returning.

We came to celebrate our son and daughter-in-law’s 15th wedding anniversary, 23 of us made up of friends and family. We knew the food would be great because it always is, but what we hadn’t expected was how well we were treated. We arrived early to decorate the tables but the staff had already done it for us. They had put up a lovely display of balloons and put out special napkins and confetti on the tables. We were all really impressed and it made a lovely evening very special. Thank you to all the staff.

I’m disappointed to say the least. I’ve loved giggling squid since they first opened their Horsham branch. I went for a lunch here today having come back for Christmas break and ordered pad thai for their quick lunch. The Pad thai arrived within 4 minutes of ordering which was a huge bonus until I took a bite of the chicken and it was raw. I mean bright pink and like it hadn’t even touched the pan. The waiter was very apologetic but considering I’ve spent the rest of my afternoon being ill… I would advise people to check their food. Visualizza piatti

We visited with 2 good friends for my husband’s birthday. We wanted chicken satay to start, they had run out (this happened the last time we came) and my red Thai chicken curry had 2 pieces of chicken in. Husbands birthday was not mentioned, despite the table next to us having a birthday! A complementary cheesecake was brought to the table as an apology, only to be charged for it when the bill came! We asked for another bottle of wine at 10pm only to be told the bar was closed. At 1015pm the lights came on full and the front door was opened, we felt very unwelcome. Would not return and would not recommend. Very disappointing.

I 'm ashamed to say, having lived in and around Brighton and Horsham, and worked in London for 20yrs, last night was the first time I 'd been to the Giggling Squid! I took clients and colleagues so it was important to have great food, great service, and a great atmosphere which was effortless. The team there dealt with my intolerance to Dairy and Gluten really well. Menu online was clear so I planned what I was going to eat. The Restaurant Manager knew what was in everything too which was comforting. She was even saying Phil this one 's not for you , or Phil, this one 's for you ... (first time she 'd met me). This is absolutely light years ahead of so many restaurants.. Food and Wine was gr...

"My mother and I had been following the Masterchef Pro comp ' last year and were really keen to sample some of the winner, Tom Hamblet 's, food. We travelled a 4 hour round trip for the experience. We don 't eat at fine dining restaurants often but we are foodies. Firstly, the setting of the restaurant is very lavish and comfortable with warm low lighting. That said, the dinner experience was a little too dark for my mother so that 's something to think about if you struggle with eyesight and low lighting. The service was friendly, attentive and speedy/efficient. The food: I 'll start with the dessert because that was a real pleasure for us. We both loved the flavours of Tom 's end of series winning dessert so the meal ended on a high (we ordered the Olive Oil sponge with lemon curd). I recommend not ruining your palette with the overly sweet petit four that are placed in front of you following dessert unfortunately ours were more sugar flavoured than any other identifiable flavour. Our starters and mains were very VERY underwhelming. They arrived looking beautiful, neat and tidy but failed to deliver on taste. I had wanted the celeriac themed starter but the waiting staff told me the vegan/veggie starters and mains were created by their head chef and not Tom. That was disappointing as his 3 month residency was the reason we 'd visited the restaurant. We ended up both having the lobster starters after the waiting staff recommended it highly as either a starter or an additional dish to share. The claw meat was minimal and tough and the foam mousse took centre stage on the plate. Whilst the plate had lots of textures to it, we felt it was unbalanced and generally with no 'wow ' to it. We enjoyed the coffee and rye bread with butter and pollen/fennel that came prior to this thought. I ordered the Guinea Fowl as a main after the waiter described it as a gamey, dark and tender meat. I feel like a better description to someone that hasn 't had guinea fowl before would be 'it 's like a chicken breast with a different flavour '. This is what arrived in front of me and I actually found it was quite dry and not dark at all! I would never have ordered anything that resembled chicken breast anyway so I felt ill informed about my choice. I also thought the girolles were overwhelmingly tart. I didn 't enjoy my main. Mum 's Hogget was nice but average for her too. Last comment I 've never in my life paid £6.50 for less than 1.5ltrs mineral water beware! I don 't care how much money you have it 's water!!!"

"Service: 11/10 Starter: Calamari Duck Parfait - 10/10 Main Course 1: 50-Day Aged Fillet Mignon with Bordelaise Sauce (cooked *Blue*) - 100/10 Main Course 2: Fish and Chips - 9/10 Dessert: Hot Brownie - Over 9000! I want to extend my thanks to the front-of-house team for their warm welcome. Although we arrived a bit late, they were incredibly accommodating. Special thanks to Irvana (I hope I spelled that correctly) for providing excellent service! My steak experience took me on a nostalgic journey—like Anton Ego savoring his ratatouille in Gusto’s restaurant. It reminded me of a family meal in Holland during my childhood, where I had my first real steak. This may have even surpassed that memory! I was initially hesitant about dining at Miller and Carter since it's a chain restaurant, but if you're feeling the same way, let me assure you: don't be. While it may not be the cheapest option, it definitely deserves a smart-casual dress code that anyone who understands proper dining etiquette should respect. Curious, I browsed through other reviews, and I found it hard to believe anyone could leave a 1-star review without sounding like a “Karen.” It’s important to take reviews with a grain of salt—this is truly a fantastic restaurant! In summary, if you're a fan of steak, this place will take great care of you and provide excellent recommendations for how to enjoy your meal just the way you like it. Perfect!"
