Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Giraffe York Monk’s Cross remains our number 1 “go” place for family dinner.

Booked a table only to turn up and find it closed. No idea if food etc is good or poor but I wouldn't risk booking again

A great restaurant for a family meal out. We celebrated our daughters birthday and the staff were excellent. Great choice of food and a good variety for the children too. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back again.

Service was slow. Restaurant appeared under staffed as they were trying to do too many things at once resulting in wrong items being delivered to tables. At times they were more focused on talking amongst themselves around the bar then delivering an attentive service. Food was ok if not slightly bland and lacking flavour.

It is the first time we visited a Giraffe restaurant and enjoyed it very much. Our three children were cared for, they had several requirements for drinks! This was our first visit to a Giraffe restaurant and we had a wonderful experience. Our three children were well taken care of, despite their numerous drink requests! The quality of the food was very good and the service was outstanding. We happened to visit during a quieter time, which made the experience even more personalized. My least favourite restaurant in York but my son loves it so we went for a meal. No giraffe cocktail sticks anymore My husband and I really struggle to find anything we really fancy eating so are invariably disappointed with our food. The bill has never been right for the last few times we have visited so watch out for mistakes, and I object to having a 10% service charge added especially as the service was pretty poor even though the restaurant was fairly empty. An expensive and uninspired visit. McDonalds would have been better.

The restaurant offered a good variety of dishes to suit everyone's taste. I ordered the Lamb Tagine, but the couscous was not properly fluffed up and still retained the shape of the container it came from. The atmosphere was a bit odd, as we had booked a table for 6:30 but could hear the staff thanking each other at 7:00, indicating they were closing. We witnessed a couple being turned away at 7:00 for arriving too late and another couple with a confirmed online booking for 7:30 also being turned away. Unfortunately, when it came to dessert, my daughter was unable to have churros as the kitchen had already shut down. Overall, it is a nice place to dine but be sure to call ahead and confirm c...
