"I guess the price for regular size cod and chips is average at £11.50 these days, but the size of the fish fillet was ridiculously small and likewise the chips were very few. Quality was ok which stepped the review to 2 stars rather than 1. Picked up as a takeaway (presented in a closed box) on the way through Goring so wasn't going to travel back 15 miles, otherwise I would have complained or taken back. Don't rip off passing trade. Service: Take out"

Chicken Nuggets were fantastic, chips were mediocre and very small portion about half the size of any other chip shop. Could do with a refresh inside and a menu putting on the wall so you can decide before getting to the till. Also rather expensive, this might be in goring but needs to change. "We sat outside and enjoyed delicious hot rolls at this restaurant. The menu had a good selection to choose from. However, parking was a bit of a challenge as the car park was full and the extension field was too wet. The roads were also crowded with parked cars. The price per person ranged from £10 to £20. The food was rated 5 out of 5, the service a 4 out of 5, and the atmosphere a 4 out of 5. It was difficult to find parking, but there were options for free parking in a lot or on the street."

"What a lovely and welcoming pub! The food is excellent and definitely worth the price. The rooms are comfortable and quite spacious. A big thank you to Mon and Steve for making our weekend so special; we will definitely be back!"

"Disappointing. Booked Sunday lunch and specifically asked if they did gluten free which they confirmed they did. Unfortunately when we got there the only gf starter was parsnip soup without bread, the gf roast meant simply removing half the plate (the Yorkshire and stuffing etc) but still charged the same price and the only gf dessert was lemon sorbet. The menu looked lovely with a good number of choices for non gf so it’s a shame they can’t be bothered to cater for dietary requirements (or perhaps don’t make their food fresh to be able to adapt it). How on earth a prawn cocktail can’t be offered as gf if it came without bread is beyond me! If they’d been honest about the incredibly limited choices we’d have gone elsewhere and been able to actually enjoy a proper Sunday lunch. Won’t be returning"

"This is a pub from my childhood. I spent many hours playing in the garden and feeling very welcome. The chap who served us was nice. First... The pizza was nice. The burger was bland. The scampi was lots of air and little scampi. The calamari was not even eaten. The chips were too salty. The chips where over fried like they had been left in the fryer and fried again. All in all the good was not worth the £52 spent (not including drinks)! How do you get fried food so wrong! We told the waiter and you would have though a manager would have come out. Nope! Such a shame, but in a village with so many pubs, I would go somewhere else."
