Checked the website before driving there, says open until 3pm on Mondays. Arrived at 1.20pm to be told they don’t serve lunch after 1pm. Absolutely ludicrous! Who does that? So we left and won’t be back.

We had a great lunch today the food is always full of flavour and supports local producers. the food is good value.The staff are very friendily and accomodating nothing is too much trouble. The brownies are to die for

What a fantastic place. Such a warm friendly place.lovely staff, the coffee and food are both excellent. I am local and have only just started using this little restaurant/coffee shop, and have discovered that I have really been missing out . Cannot recommend highly enough only open daytime. Been here a few times but really gone downhill, was served by a young guy who had no knowledge of basic hygiene- kept playing with his hair all over the cakes. Portion size was very small overcooked eggs. But the worse thing was the awful smell in the whole place maybe more ventilation required.

great place, have eaten very well here before. menu has fair prices and food and coffee vg. however today they decided to close the kitchen for food when tried to order at 1.25pm and refused to warm up some soup on special board). disappointing! many walkers were left hungry. there were several staff there and not supposed to close until 3pm on Mon :

I arrived in E.P. on a brisk walk and wanted to grab a bite to eat and a cup of tea. It was just after 2:00pm. However, when I walked into the cafe, I was greeted with the announcement that the kitchen was closed and they were not serving food. Nice place but not that friendly. Arrives just after 2pm and told immediately’we don’t do food after 2’ well this was ok as we only wanted a cup of tea. At 2.30 they started to put chairs up on tables and then we were ‘reminded’ that they were shut at 3pm well yes we knew that. At 2.45 again we were reminded they shut at 3 and were still busying around generally making us feel uncomfortable. Don’t think they should be pushing their customers out either they are open until 3 or not….

Appalling customer service and a total lack of respect for the customers! I phoned G&G 13.20 to ensure they were open and still serving food. I was categorically told that if I placed my order by 13.45 we would be served. We arrived approximately 5 minutes later to be told the kitchen had closed. There was no shortage of food or staff, I made the point that I had been promised to be served but no explanation was given. I asked to speak to the manager who, again, couldn’t explain why they had broken their commitment to me. I asked what was the problem/constraint? The ‘manager’ merely said “ there is no need to be rude “ . I asked to clarify how she could accuse me of being rude? She couldn’t...

We arrived bank holiday Monday at 13.10. There were some free tables outside (dirty) and it was clear that the staff had had a very busy morning. The outside area was really pretty and I really liked the feel of the space. There were dog water bowls and a box of dog treats and all the guests seemed to be very happy. We sat down before going inside to ask for a menu. I was instructed that they were not serving lunch only breakfast. Fair enough. I ordered inside a few minutes later. This was slightly painful with a member of staff calling out for a colleague to assist him as he was busy. Again, fair enough.
