"I was looking for somewhere to take my daughter for a cream tea, whilst on holiday. Was hoping to find a sweet, traditional style cafe as I think a cream tea deserves such a setting. We stumbled across Tea by the Quay and it was everything I was hoping for. We were waited on by a friendly waitress. The tea was served in a lovely old fashioned tea pot. The scone was served warm with a good amount of jam and cream and was reasonably priced. It was simply perfect! Service: Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"This was not our first visit, so we were disappointed on this occasion. Whilst the waiting staff took account of food intolerances when taking our order, the kitchen made a number of small mistakes which, had the intolerances been full-blown allergies, could have caused problems. Both the steak and the venison we found to be on the tough side and not of the quality that we would expect from Orestone Manor."

"Delightful café and justifiably busy on a wet Saturday lunchtime. Dogs are welcome and if their owners are coeliac then they can cater for them too. They have a separate fryer for gluten free and will substitute across their menu. They do gf bread and have a menu available via QR code where you can select allergens. Food was delicious, staff super friendly, patient and helpful. We had brunch great variety including lots of vegetarian options. The atmosphere was lovely and areas have clearly been updated recently. Plenty of seating upstairs and down, right by the beach and a stone’s throw from the Teignmouth foot ferry."

"Disappointing if I’m honest. We booked as a family because we really fancied some fresh seafood. When we called we specified that there were six adults, five children and a baby in a high chair. At no point during that call did anyone say that there is no children’s menu available which made for an even more expensive trip. The food was very expensive, we ended up getting the children to share three fish and chips between them and the fish inside the batter was lovely but the chips were drenched in oil. Three of us shared one of the platters and whilst it was lovely and very well presented, we all walked away hungry as there isn’t really much fish on there for you to eat. The waitress was lovely but we had to keep prompting for things we’d asked for that had been forgotten despite the restaurant being empty."
