"The food was excellent 5/5 But the service was very poor. The waiter was friendly enough but he was constantly distracted chatting with his colleagues. The order has to be ordered in a certain way and was taken an hour in to our visit, the drinks took 30 minutes to come, when we reordered drinks he brought 2 of them then charred again for 10 minutes before bringing the other two. When he asked if we wanted a refill on the starter dips we said no, 15 minutes later we had run out of a couple of things so asked for a refill after all which was treated by the waiter rudely. Also, although there was a sign on the door that said cash only we weren’t told about it at the start of the meal. I even phoned up and he asked me if it was my first time so when I said yes it seemed liked the perfect opportunity to tell me about this. Overall I have to recommend because the food was that good but the service was a real let down."

"I was looking for somewhere to take my daughter for a cream tea, whilst on holiday. Was hoping to find a sweet, traditional style cafe as I think a cream tea deserves such a setting. We stumbled across Tea by the Quay and it was everything I was hoping for. We were waited on by a friendly waitress. The tea was served in a lovely old fashioned tea pot. The scone was served warm with a good amount of jam and cream and was reasonably priced. It was simply perfect! Service: Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Delightful café and justifiably busy on a wet Saturday lunchtime. Dogs are welcome and if their owners are coeliac then they can cater for them too. They have a separate fryer for gluten free and will substitute across their menu. They do gf bread and have a menu available via QR code where you can select allergens. Food was delicious, staff super friendly, patient and helpful. We had brunch great variety including lots of vegetarian options. The atmosphere was lovely and areas have clearly been updated recently. Plenty of seating upstairs and down, right by the beach and a stone’s throw from the Teignmouth foot ferry."

"Really liked this place! Arrived early for lunch and had a couple of drinks in the beer garden. Just so quiet and tranquil with a stream at the bottom. Perfect spot. Went inside for food, slightly old world feel but was actually so relaxed, table by the window with those views. Was Sunday so roast in order, with beef, pork and chicken. Meat was very generous and heaps of shared veg. Had whole plaice myself which was fresh and cooked perfectly, with a basket of chips. Had deserts and stayed ages!!! Not expensive, mains were £15 but very good value. Absolute gem of a pub!!!"
