"After a frustrating day of travel, my daughter and I discovered Ristorante da Tony only a ten-minute walk from our disappointment of a hotel (Marriott). We were instantly and warmly welcomed by Tony. He asked just the right questions of us while going over the...menu and specials to determine what comfort food he could provide. He brought the perfect wine, exactly the appetizer that would compliment the meals we'd chosen, and hearty plates of pasta exactly what we needed to improve the day. His gracious hospitality is even more appreciated than the wonderful meal. We look forward to telling friends to be sure to visit this special place!"

"Extrem unfreundliches Personal und schlechter Service. Waren abends dort um etwas zu trinken, denn der Biergarten hat ein gemütliches Ambiente und das Bier ist gut. Die Stimmung wurde allerdings mehrfach durch die unfreundlichen Mitarbeiter getrübt. Dass Kartenzahlung erst ab einer Mindestsumme möglich ist, kann man kaum unhöflicher vermitteln. Das EM-Spiel auf dem Fernseher im Biergarten wurde ohne Ankündigung wenige Minuten vor Abpfiff einfach abgeschaltet. Das Abkassieren erfolgte ebenfalls abrupt und ruppig. In Freising gibt es so viele Biergärten und Kneipen, da muss es nicht dieser sein."

"Having read some positive reviews on Kathi’s, we decided to go. Upon arrival we were advised the restaurant was full and the only table available was within a small overflow area. Before taking in the surroundings, we accepted and sat down. We quickly realised the...area we were sat was the entrance to two shops and a bar?!! The shop windows were in need of a wash and the ambience was non existent. I absolutely adore steak and often cook in my own kitchen, I was really keen to try the special Bavarian steak. I’m a little confused as to why you would come to Bavaria and order meat from another country? There was many selections from other countries available. I should note that with a price tag of €39, my expectations were high. My husband ordered the burger. Our food arrived and cutting into my steak, it became obvious the meat was not cooked as ordered, I requested “medium”...the meat had not been rested either meaning the meat juices and blood were on my plate. I requested the waiter return to the kitchen for further cooking. Once my steak arrived back, it was cooked to my preference however still oozing meat juices on the plate. At home, my steak is rested for a minimum of 5 minutes to avoid this. The meat was nice and so too were the accompaniments, my husband reports his burger was tasteless and laden with various sauces, causing it to collapse with moisture. All in all, we would not return. A restaurant focusing on serving steak should have chefs who know how to successfully cook (and rest) this expensive cut of meat."

"We were the first impression of the map on Wednesday night. Initial difficulties have compensated our service well. Unfortunately, in the kitchen, however, there is still a lot of air up. Liver spit should be allowed to live in a meat soup. Vegetable area from the packet is not the hit. The pork roast with us at the table went back to 3/4 unfortunately not edible. The meat was warmed up with the sauce and the potato dumplings resembled a chewing gum-like measure. Brezenknödel with Schwammerl were written out Semmelknödel from a Breze far and wide no trace. Beef fillet medium should also come tastefully but it was good. The two scavengers at last could not save the overall impression. As a supplement, there were potato salad with sweet must but tasty. All in all the changes in the host can only be successful if the weaknesses of the kitchen are compensated. At the moment, however, I would recommend a referral."

"I was first introduced to this restaurant by a friend and have subsequently been back a number of times over the last year. The restaurant is relatively small in terms of seating and I can recommend no specific spot. However, if it is one of...those hot summer days then certainly asked to be seated in the back courtyard next to the Moosach stream which quaintly winds its way between and under the buildings in Freising. This is a great spot in summer as the flowing water creates a lovely atmosphere and you can watch the ducks play in the water while you enjoy one of the wonderfully prepared duck dishes served by this restaurant. The food is good and between myself and friends we have tasted most items on the menu and have not found anything that was not worth eating. All items are reasonably well priced and the lunch menu is always good value for money."
