"Sunday lunch took us this time in Paris' Hexagone, restaurant of the son of famed chef of L'Ambroisie. For a strange reason this Michelin starred restaurant does brunches on Sunday, which seemed a bit off to us but let's park that point, but we had the set menu. Be aware that in normal times, you would need to take the brunch on Sunday, us having a set menu was actually a booking error on the website and the honoured the lunch. On the food side, all was very nice at globally at level with expectations: from starter to main to dessert, it is definitely worth a star for the food. The 90 euros set menu is pricey, but what did you expect in this area of the capital... True to other comments the wine list is pricey, verging on the very pricey. We started with a pre-starter of some sort of vegetable consomme (very fine), slow cooked egg and wild asparagus (amazing, felt i was eating in a forest some wild vegetables), fine fish & finally wild strawberry dessert. All precise, delicate, portions perfectly sized. The maitre d' was remarkable, and he really made the experience enjoyable, always doing the extra mile to add to our moment.Only disappointment is the setting, which i would definitely not rate 1 star. It is a mix of flashy / tacky design, bordering slightly cheap, and already very tired looking. Though this did not bother us "per se", it really does disservice to the restaurant as it makes it look like a trendy gaudy place that i would prefer to avoid at all cost!However... all in all:Worth going: yes, but during the week & probably for lunchExpensive: yes, namely the wine"
