"I 'd read good things about this restaurant so sought it out but this food was shocking. The soup of the day courgette and white bean was absolutely devoid of flavour. I haven 't used so much salt (and also pepper in 20+ years and it was still tasteless. Honestly if I can be a little hyperbolic it probably sucked the nutrients out of me. It was more like a raw zucchini tea that happened to have beans. The top 4 search engine results for courgette white bean soup alone give instructions that would have vitally improved this dish (and that 's without even clicking through to them! . The sea bream was noticeably well cooked. A nice crisp on it. No complaints on the sea bream other than it was all alone. The green bean salad (actually only just green beans I guess was seasoned ... OK ... butter and garlic but too many were undercooked. The underwhelming flavour unfortunately was mirrored in the visuals as well. Sea bream and green beans? Fine, I guess (though without the lemon wedge utterly boring . The soup was like a sickly translucent white grey. I don 't think I 've ever had such a bland meal. Just very plain, overly simplistic (and that 's without even getting into that their kitchen doesn 't know how to make their soup of the day . They could have used some more variety on the plate sauce or otherwise. A complete amateur chef, could come up with a number of ways that would have vastly improved the food just within the course of the meal, just as probably any decent experienced home cook or a thoughtful young server would have. The staff (mostly kept a respectful distance from their customers, which was appreciated, though the manager(? obliviously walked kind of right at someone on the street immediately prior to my arrival. Some seemed not to hear very well. Same manager(? didn 't know their menu of the day. At no point during my entire hour did any staff member bother to ask how any of the food was if they had I doubt I would be writing this. They did an all right job of keeping me supplied with water, I guess. Slapped on a service charge then told how to pay contactless (as if had never used one before . Atmosphere wise other clientele mostly engaged in inane conversation. The decorating was successfully non offensive. I 've given this a 3/5 for value because the set menu was indeed not too expensive and if you hang around chatting as many other clients did maybe you 'll get your money 's worth socially speaking anyway."

One of my favourite restaurants in Chiswick. The food is always great, the service is superb and for brunch, it is the best eggs royal on the high street!

Very disappointing. The acoustic is terrible. You cannot hear the people you are sitting next to; the noise level is terrible. Food is average and the service is average. Not worth the money

Great location with a good outdoor seating area with heaters that stay on and deliver plenty of heat! Excellent service but, unfortunately, it’s the food that lets this place down and for that reason I would not return to eat here.

We eat here a great deal. It is good for staples like fish chips, cheeseburgers, chicken Milanese, etc. Great atmosphere. Lovely staff who are obliging and flexible. Good helpings. Avoid the Mackens Bavette steak which is the toughest in the whole world.

Terrible service from manager and disappointing food. Used to go here a lot when lived in Chiswick. Revisited recently approx 5 years later. Ate at ‘The Club’. This place has totally gone downhill. Sloppy management. To the point of rudeness. Manager clearly hates working there. Restaurant not busy and service extremely poor. Ruined our evening. Definitely one of the worst in the SH group. We arrived 15 min earlier for our booking and greeted by a friendly lady got seated to a nice table. After that the waiter arrived a very classic old school head waiter style and from start to finish he was very much snobby and not pleasant sadly. Also the food from start to finish was below average. So shame for a location like that with lots of potential not supported by on point and friendly service with a simple -tasty menu.

We went for dinner and felt rushed to order … we ordered the food and took a longer look at the wine selection . Within 5/10 mins the food was on the table and the wine arrived later . Would have been nice to have relaxed into the evening , had a glass of wine and some bread we ordered Then ate …. Just felt like they wanted to seat the next guests … The food was ok , my mushy peas a bit cold Dessert good … but overall feeling was slightly disappointing
