Hirsel Cottage Tearoom

My husband ordered the Caprese salad while I had a toastie and soup. The servings were generous, fresh, and delicious. There were plenty of gluten-free options available and breads could be requested. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The courtyard seating area allowed well-behaved dogs.

After having a lovely stroll in the grounds, we stopped off for refreshments and were delighted we did. The cafe was lovely and warm with friendly staff. We had delicious coffee with freshly baked scones in a nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit for the walks, pottery shop and cafe afterwards.

I stopped here for lunch as I knkew the surroundings were wonderful and I was so glad that I did. I had a goats' cheese and beetroot salad and it was absolutely delicious. We stopped off here for lunch and although it was busy we were served very quickly. When our order arrived it was both delicious and plentiful. I chose the baked potato with coronation chicken and my husband chose the cottage pie. The staff were very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. We would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I visited the Hirsel for the first time today with a friend. We took a walk around the beautiful grounds before enjoying a delicious lunch of coronation chicken sandwiches with a side salad and cappuccino. The food was fresh and tasty, and the waitress was friendly. The prices were reasonable, and we also stopped by the Farmhouse shop on our way out. I was very impressed and will definitely return.

Superb location, nice premises and tasty food. However, the first disappointment was having to pay £2.50 to Park. The menu is on the pricey side. Service was slow and the servers seemed a little disorganised as we had to correct and repeat our order. Strangely, you get your bill at the shop counter, so we did not have a chance to review it. The cashier read out the items on our bill, which sadly bore only a passing resemblance to what we actually had. As they use hand held devices, this was difficult to understand. Visualizza piatti

This is a lovely restaurant with a light and airy atmosphere and outdoor seating. The farm shop is a nice touch with some unusual produce. The staff are friendly, approachable, and efficient. While there are no vegan options, they were accommodating and made a toastie without meat and cheese, served with a nice salad. My husband enjoyed his generous egg mayo sandwich. The prices are reasonable and the restaurant is very clean. The tables are well spaced out so you don't feel crowded. The waitress even brought me a cushion for my seat. The coffee was the best we've had in a long time. We will definitely come back if we're in the area again.

After a good walk round the estate, I arrived here at a very busy 1pm. There were no tables free inside, so rather than wait until one became available, I opted to sit outside (at one of the tables with an umbrella, as the sky threatened rain! . The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and explained that there might be a bit of a wait for food I didn't mind. Actually, someone came out and took my order almost straight away, and the wait for the food wasn't very long at all. When I'd finished, and was on my way to pay, I was asked if everything had been OK. The food was delicious, and I don't think I've come across more helpful and attentive staff anywhere. Ten out of ten!

We called in during the Coldstream Civic week for a light bite and coffee/tea. Draughty on a cool day, clean and good table service. The cream tea was disappointing: cream and jam were not enough to cover one scone and were taken from a too cold fridge so the cream was too hard. Also, no butter. The jam was a cheap variety. Considering they sold jam at over £3.50 a jar they missed a chance to advertise their products on sale. I would expect a place with other businesses around, a car park charge, beautiful setting and pleasant customer to try harder to pamper their customers to the best not the second best.
