"we came in as we had a buy, get a free cream tee pass through the john Lewis Card app. After we had ordered ourselves and sat down, it took about 15 minutes until our tee was brought over us, what we thought was one, but when it was a Sunday afternoon and we reasonably understood. we thought the skorn would follow, but they didn't, in that we waited another 15/20 minutes and nothing came. our table was right next to the counter so we could see that many drinks/kissen/mice are placed on tablets and brought to other tables. we asked one of the servers if we could have the rest of our order, because he had not all come, she said (without apology offered) and checked our table number before she went back behind the counter. but nothing came back and after another 10 minutes we had enough and had to go as we needed to be elsewhere. we went and asked if we could have a refund because it was ridiculous that we would wait for over 45 minutes until a cake is placed on a plate. the dame at the time was the one who had taken our order and we asked where our food was when she passed, but she still looked out that we were angry! she went and got someone else, I guess her manager, who then told us that we could not have a refund because we used a voucher and included our ordering a free article. why that meant that we could not get a refund that I don't know, we didn't ask for the money for two things, just for those we paid. they said the best they could do was give us the objects, and within less than a minute they were piled. Amazing that it could be done so quickly, considering how long we had originally waited! I can't say if the actual cakes were good or not because we had to go somewhere else this afternoon, so they had to be left in a warm car for several hours and until we came home, the pots of the cream had to be thrown away and they had dried out."

Nice bright Italian restaurant. Lovely service. Pasta was Al dente. Very good but sauce a bit sweet.

Mother's Day review: Overall, it was a pleasant experience, although there were a few children crying, which the restaurant can't really control. Extras felt pricey, like the bread, and I found the over £5 charge for non-alcoholic beer to be a bit steep.

I enjoyed afternoon tea and found the staff to be extremely friendly. The tea, cakes, and sandwiches were of high quality. The scones were delightful—warm and served with jam and cream. I highly recommend this place for afternoon tea! Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

The restaurant is located on the 4th floor in the kids' section. If you're looking for a place to relax with your baby, I highly recommend this spot. They have comfortable seating and a small shop. The staff was friendly, and there is a wide variety of brunch dishes to choose from!

Regrettably, despite receiving recommendations, this experience was a major letdown. While the pizzas were reportedly decent, the Carbonara was far from traditional and lacked flavor. The bill was exorbitant given what we ordered, and it was so chilly inside that we had to eat in our coats.

We both ordered pancakes with bacon, and based on the fact they were close to £10 each, we were expecting a good meal. What arrived was 3 small, thin pancakes and some tiny streaks of the thinnest most tasteless bacon. We both left hungry and I went to greggs after for a sausage roll to help fill me up. Better taste, more filling and 10% of the price. Will not be going again. Nothing against the service but unfortunately, the food should bring the rating down to negative stars.

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere that’s perfect for a relaxed outing. However, the service left much to be desired. The waitstaff, particularly the girl who brought our coffee, seemed indifferent and placed our drinks on a dirty table. When we asked her to clean it up, she gave us a long sigh before eventually doing so, but left napkins on the wet spot afterward. Overall, we noticed that other staff members were friendlier, but the overall experience was mixed. Despite this, I would consider returning, though the service really could be improved.

A very disappointing trip. We have visited the restaurant t before and were very impressed however this visit was very different. The staff seemed frantic and after being served starters we then waited an hour for our pizza. Having been constantly told we were next when the pizzas did arrive we were informed that their system had gone down why not just tell us that. Pizzas seemed rushed, soggy and uninspiring. A free glass of wine and a bottle of Coke couldn’t make up for it. Also, why serve our 3 year old her pizza 2 minutes after her starter arrived?! We will return but in the hope that this was a one off.

I was quite disappointed to discover that the restaurant had a new, very limited menu that was different from the one displayed on their website. There were also no monthly specials available. I didn't find anything that appealed to me, so I ordered the spaghetti carbonara, which turned out to be extremely salty. My companions were satisfied with their choices, although they noted that the portion sizes were small. On the positive side, the service was excellent. The waitress even offered to have the chef prepare another dish for me, but I declined her kind offer. To our surprise, she treated us to our coffees for free!

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
