"we wanted to spend a relaxing evening in the il cortile. the ambiente in the outdoor restaurant was nice, a bit like on holiday.In the beginning we were asked more often about our desires. the chef of the house recommended us good wee, suitable for our also quite good starter plate for 2 people. after that we could order another glass of wine and another large bottle of water and then we were ignored. after more than half an hour we had no drinks anymore and despite more times try no success, more drinks and the main dish. At some point, the chef has noticed us and signaled us that he'd be the same. that took another 10 minutes. it came his wife. I then asked them politely why we were ignored. it did not come a word of regret, but followed by a quintessence that it was our fault (among other things) because we had not ordered all the passages immediately. the appetit has finally passed us and we have demanded the bill. two minutes later, the chef came in person and also started discussions. we insisted on the bill that was then served by the chief supreme aggressiw with a fist on the table. the initial ease was obviously pure façade with this herrn. such a behavior has never happened to us. we paid for the broken evening with an appetizer over 53 euro. il cortile? never again!"

Ein gemütliches Restaurant, Familienbetrieb, gute Küche, freundliche Bedienung. Die Lage in der Fußgängerzone von Herdecke, etwas abseits, ist gut. Das Essen ist lecker und frisch, da gehen wir wieder hin.

beautiful restaurant with great food (although the pasta had all of fromgole too much content) and good service. charming interieur and large terrace in summer. main dish with grilled salmon was delicious.

Nice environment and realy good food. We sat outside and it almost felt like Italy (football on the TV). The owner sneaks around and make the visit pleasant. We also got some good grappa to finish. Recommend it.

the owner salvatore and his team are extremely nice and rebellious host. the chef has a - as I find - lovely, dry humor. the chef giuseppe is really great. the local has a small card, all the foods are fresh and prepared with best ingredients. to dessert is recommended a zabaione that the chef himself strikes. the price/performance ratio is also great. in the summer you sit on the terrace in the courtyard excellent. we have experienced many nice hours at and with salvatores team and will surely be able to enjoy some more.
