"I recently had a very disappointing experience at Sedgemoor Cookhouse. I was refused service for no reason, and I was left feeling humiliated and angry. I arrived at the restaurant on a Friday evening with my partner. We were seated at a table and given menus. We ordered our drinks and food, and then we waited. After about 15 minutes, a waitress came to our table and said that the chef had refused to cook our food. She didn't give us any reason for this, and she just shrugged when we asked her why. We were shocked and confused. We had done nothing to offend the chef or the staff, and we couldn't understand why they were refusing to serve us. We asked to speak to the manager, but he was nowhere to be found. The waitress said that she would try to find him, but she never came back. We waited for another 10 minutes, but the manager still didn't appear. We were so disgusted by the way we had been treated that we decided to leave. As we were walking out of the restaurant, we saw the chef standing in the kitchen. He was laughing and joking with the other staff members. It was clear that he didn't care that he had ruined our evening. I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated at Sedgemoor Cookhouse. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you are looking for a place to eat where you will be treated with respect, then you should avoid Sedgemoor Cookhouse at all costs."

"We have been regular customers at Maiseys bakery for over 18 years, visiting every Saturday until the pandemic hit. Since the management change, we have noticed a significant increase in prices for their bread and cakes. Today, on 29/7/23, we paid £1.35 for the smallest Lardy square we've ever purchased. We understand that ingredient costs have gone up, but it's becoming challenging for us to justify the prices. Despite this, we must say that Maiseys' bread and cakes are still the best we've ever tasted. Stay safe."

"We have visited many times now as a family group, we went again last night- the food and service again was fantastic. The steaks/ mixed grill meats are all locally sourced and have been perfectly cooked every single time. The specials board always as home made pies, fish dishes etc. the puddings are superb and it’s all so reasonably priced. I honestly can’t fault it in any way. The owners and staff are so friendly and clearly take such pride in their wonderful traditional pub. Credit where credit is due!"
