"The taste of pastries has gone downhill and they are not really value for money. But apart from that I did not like the attitude of the person serving. When I was about to pay I asked how much it was and the person said £7. I asked why and I was told it was typed wrongly so £6.50…what??? It looks like they were just rounding it up to screw me, no apology or explanation, that stinks. Serve with a smile, treat customers kindly and they will be back. Try to screw them and they will not come back. That simple. Think about that"

The best sausage roll I’ve ever had. Phenomenal! The pastry and meat were exceptionally flavourful and the pastry was so flaky. I can’t wait to try more food here.

Probably the best bakery you will ever visit! The croissants, and pan chocolate of to die for ! Well stocked deli, and always a warm welcome. Also, best coffee on the Barbican! Visualizza piatti

I’ve had pastries and sandwiches from here in the past, but last week I tried their steak pasty and I honestly believe it’s the best pasty in Plymouth. The pastry was buttery, the filling was quality and it was out of the world. You need to try this if you’re in Plymouth!

I was surprised to see no bread in a bakery at 10 in the morning. All the shelves were empty ! The carrot cake was dry and the choco mint bun was overwhelmingly minty . I found it pricy too . The cashier not too friendly either . Overall quite disappointing compared to the current rating. Will not go there again ! Visualizza piatti

I love my sausage rolls and I can't find a good place for them ,so they are far few theses days. So I thought I try one from jacka bakery , omg it was amazing tasty, full of flavour and the pastry was just melt in the mouth , I'm a great believer that the pastry makes the product, it will be my only place to go for them now.

Must be the worst sausage roll I have ever had all I could taste was salt and to make matters worse it was £4.50 , It doesn’t come close to a quality sausage roll you can get better in a Spar shop, Maybe it was a off day as lots good reviews , I worked on Barbican late 80s early 90s for 12 years and this was are go to place and never let us down not sure if trying to be something it’s not , I was really surprised how bad it was fair enough if £1.50 but if charging £4.50 it’s got to taste At least ok :

"Visited on a busy Saturday evening. General impression is the restaurant is clean, well presented and evidently well liked for how many people were in the small dining area. A little noisy, particularly in the confined space beside the kitchen, when seated close beside a louder table. As the evening progressed, we felt quite cold not sure if the heating was on? Service from the staff was outstanding, very friendly, polite, attentive, but food was slow to arrive. We were a little perplexed by having the appetiser on the table before our starter/main order had been taken, so having to work around still having the menus. The smoked butter was very strong my partner liked it, it was too much for me. Both fish starters were good, with the mackerel our favourite. The main courses were OK. The lamb was fine, but served with lamb fat root veg meant the whole plate was very similar flavoured, and the green beans/salsa verde felt like an afterthought. The skate wing was nice, and the crispy capers were a new and pleasant experience. The desserts rescued the food for me the creme brulée was outstanding, and the chocolate special was very good, with exception of a slightly chewy meringue. I feel I'm being picky with my criticisms, but fig tree is definitely priced higher than other more standard fare restaurants in Plymouth where we have also had very good food."
