"On the last evening of our short visit in Munich we had already sulted the day program and drove a little unplanned through Munich with our tourist ticket. At the lively Rotkreuzplatz we wanted to change to the subway when this classic beer garden restaurant came to us. Despite the early hour (about 6:00 p.m. the guest rooms were already well visited, which is a good sign in my eyes. And as we were already clearly hungry, we went through the beer garden that was naturally empty at the cold and entered the restaurant. Operation The operators – by the way all in Bavarian costume – were probably quite busy and initially took no note of us. We then looked for a table in a side room and took place, no minute later we got the menus. The service is Bavarian-derb and cordial as it belongs to a beer garden restaurant, but usually attentive and fast. The map offers typical Bavarian specialties as well as the unavoidable Wiener Schnitzel, with a considerable selection of fish dishes. In addition, a leaflet with daily dishes at pleasant prices, for this the beers of a Munich brewery are not necessarily to be called a bargain. The map is completely visible on the restaurant's homepage, with the prices indicated there still approx. 1,00 € are lower than those actually required in the restaurant: [here link] Madame’s first asked beer roast with dumplings was unfortunately out, so she ordered “Münchner Sauerbraten mit Semmelknödel” (€10.50), with a mineral water (€0.5l for €2.50 . I irritated the “Bauernschmaus, Schweinbraten, Ripperl, Schweinswürst`l and Leberknödel on Sauerkraut and Röz The drinks were served very quickly, the food was only allowed to wait a little longer. Both plates were well filled, Madame had two discs of a considerable size and a not less significant semmelknödel. On my plate, the pieces of meat and the sausage were on a bed of white and sauce. Both foods were very tasty and plentiful, Madame had as often no chance against the crowd and so I could also taste the sour roast. Ambiance The location directly in the traffic noise of the heavily driven Rotkreuzplatz would scarcely tempt me to stay in the beer garden of the restaurant even at more pleasant temperatures, the noise level remained within unbearable limits despite carnival time. The interior is original, with lots of Bavarian nippes distributed everywhere, among others two deer heads on the walls. In addition, during our visit the carnival set with blue garlands wrapped over almost all other decorative items came. The furniture is simple but tidy and cozy, the tables without tablecloths, cutlery and napkins as usual in beer jars on the tables. Cleanliness The guest rooms were in perfect condition despite the numerous guests. The men's toilet was pieksauber and technically up-to-date with touchless fittings and a turbo dryer of a well-known American vacuum cleaner manufacturer. The ladies' room was also clean, but technically not so high equipped. The result is from small weaknesses in the atmosphere (even the building itself is not attractive from the outside this restaurant is certainly highly recommended. This opinion is obviously also shared by numerous regular guests from the area. Book for a visit with more than two people!"
