I've been going to jake for over 40 years. their burgers are legendary and correct. Although the load is not beautiful, their burgers are the best I had. if they try to blow out the 12 or 16 unzen, they may need to shift their kiefer to get it in the mouth, but it is delicious!

Jake's has been a local legend for decades. The current owner is not the original Jake, but uses the same suppliers and recipes as Jake's has served forever with the addition of vegan burgers for the so inclined. I'm told those are good too. You won't find a better takeaway beef (or lamb) burger this side of the Atlantic. Food wise Jake's can't be faulted and the owner is very chatty: shame he's a Brexiteer.

I Have been eating at Jake’s for over 30 years. Never have I not enjoyed the food. Always love having a chat with Rob, I take all my kids with me and they also love Jake’s. But forget everything I have said and put your hands together in appreciation because finally the original RIBSTEAK is back !!!!XXX!!!! Oops I’ve been in twice this week for a treble mmm . Paid for 16 oz of beef patty, received 12 oz (365 grams) a big discrepancy and when you consider that 16 oz vs 12 oz costs £4 more you would expect to receive exactly that. When I contacted the owner, he advised that all weights advertised are pre-cooking, and so a 16 oz burger is in fact 12 oz, a 8 oz 4 oz and so on. If I were the owner and valued the integrity of my business, I would add extra meat to account for the shrinkage, or add a disclaimer on delivery sites to inform customers of the same otherwise you are misrepresenting an item.
