Kayal West Byfleet - Menu

We are regulars to Kayal and have found over several years the food has been consistently good. The staff know us and are attentive, we are always made to feel welcome. Most of the menu is gluten free which is brilliant for one of our family.

A wonderful night. Live music which could be talked over easily but created an authentic ambience. The menu has many vegetarian options and is beautifully cooked South Indian cuisine. The staff are exceptionally helpful and courteous. I warmly recommend this restaurant.

After dining here a couple of weeks ago and having a fantastic meal, I decided to take some friends. I don't know why but the meal was very disappointing and after booking on line, my reservation was messed up and there was not a table ready for my guests. I will go back at some stage and hopefully won't be disappointed again

kayal is wonderful. the menu is varied and authentic South Indian, the portions are generous and very affordable, and the staff is friendly. the sweetheart pot with appam is ideal for a comforting eating, the disc dishes are delicious, and there are some wonderful desserts. if they are really hungry or want to experience a whole series of aromen in a meal, then the sadya (thali) is a three-course banquet.

Kayal is consistently wonderful. The menu is varied and authentically south Indian, the portions are generous and very reasonably priced, and the staff are friendly. The vegetable stew with appam is great for a comforting meal, the paneer dishes are delicious, and there are some wonderful desserts. If you're really hungry or want to experience a whole range of flavours in one meal then the sadya (thali) is a three course banquet.

Lovely meal. It's a shame they don't have nan breads for sale and their poori's prathas etc are very expensive. The food is delicious and the portions are healthy. South Indian food is general hotter in spice so be sure to speak to the waiter is you want a milder dish. We ordered Pooris with out mains instead of rice and they were covered in oil which was a shame as normally the excess oil is taken off. We will definitely return to this restaurant.

We'd been to their Nottingham joint years back and were glad to know they've got a joint in the southeast. Though in front of the station, it was free parking after 6PM, the portions were good sized, wide variety of options and very authentic Kerala food. They had a good choice of veg options as well as for rice and breads. It would be good if they could keep some kids activity packs too, to keep the children busy while the grownups relish their taste buds.

This restaurant was recommended to me by my Hairdresser so I took a friend along for her birthday. What a fantastic evening we had because the food and the staff were amazing. The food is authentic and not your usual coloured sauces as is typical in many restaurants catering for the English pallet. Since, visiting I have recommended this restaurant to about 15 people if you love Indian food, this is the place. I will be introducing this restaurant to all my friends and family.

On new year's eve we had another excellent meal at Kayal (we have been to Kayal about six times in the last couple of years and never eaten anything there that was not delicious). The food is very different to most Indian restaurants and far better than standard south Asian fare, reflecting its Keralan heritage. We would recommend almost everything, but particular highlights are the delicious pre-starter snacks that are far more imaginative than the papadums offered elsewhere; the deliciously fragrant chicken stew, and the unusual vegetable side dishes.
