Highly recommend. Especially for families. My son really loves helping cook the food. I like the meal deals. It can get busy so book a table.

The food was great, and the place was really nice. It wouldn't hurt staff to give a smile from time to time. That's why I couldn't give 5 stars.

This place really reminded the barbecue place I was going to when I was living in Tokyo. We ordered vegetables, different kind of meats and seafood.

Menu was clear, plenty of choice and the food was delicious. Service was good and the food kept on coming. Reasonably priced we had the set menu for 4 which was just over £40 per head but there was plenty of food. Service charge was extra!

I have been coming to Kintan for 8 years. The food is excellent, the service is fine, but it is all an excellent experience. Highly recommend checking the website for the happy hour times which are currently 11:30 6 Tuesday Sunday and 2100 late and All day Mondays. Happy hour gives ~50% off drinks and ~1/3 off food which makes it an absolute bargain.

We ordered meat, and beer, and food was decent I would not say it is Japanese, but at least it is grilled meat (bbq). However, after being moved to a tiny table with the 5 of us the seating became very uncomfortable. To top that, we were then constantly harrassed by the waiters if we wanted to order more, then the final straw was when he took out a bill when we were still eating and drinking. Not sure if i would rush back or recommend to anyone else.

Terrible service, place is dirty, table was sticky. Asked staff to clean the table again cause the table was sticky. Got handed extra napkins to clean ourselves. Ordered sauces to go with our BBQ. Had to remind the server 3 times. It wasn't even busy. Ordered beef slices, got super fatty cuts to the point there was basically no meat. Seats were all run down and covers were all falling apart. Our grill was not changed once during the hour we were BBQing. For a table of 2 we paid close to 100 pounds and for that money a better food and experience can easily be had elsewhere. For a Japanese restaurant the lack of attention to detail was simply shocking. Would not recommend.

I’ve been to Kintan at Oxford Circus before, but this is the first time I went to the branch. The food was really great as expected. But the service was a bit odd. The waiters kept on interrupting us asking whether they can bring the bill, almost as if they wanted to get rid of us. That was very annoying, because we a bunch of friends meeting after about a year, and we were trying have some quality conversations, and it’s not ideal when you keep getting disturbed every 3 minutes…. In the end we had to tell him to stop interrupting us and that we will call him when we are ready to pay. I have loved in Japan for 5 years, and this is definitely not the Japanese kind of service.
