We have a holiday house in Sornac and always had great meals in Chateau Du Bord. The owners have built this new restaurant and it is equipped in their own unique style. The location of the restaurant is excellent and the views of the countryside... from the terrace are great. The food is always of the highest quality and the owners are always very welcoming. This is a beautiful environment on a terrace overlooking a small valley (and the road) on the outskirts of Ussel. You eat on a terrace and we were happy enough to have good weather, so could sit fully on the terrace. The flowers and decoration... there is a wonderful atmosphere. The food is excellent and the portions generous. The presentation underpins the quality. I had followed the godfather by the duck breast. Others had lamb and fish. In all cases the food was well flavored. There was a good selection of deserts from fruits to chocolate to ice. The costs were reasonable and comparable to other three course menus in the region.
