"We stopped by here for lunch, after reading that locals in the area recommend this restaurant, and we are so glad we did. Although we are both meat eaters, the vegetarian food here was *amazing*, beautifully presented, and satisfying. It was also such a refreshing break from all of the heavy French fare we had been eating. Don’t skip the homemade desserts! I had a slice of mojito cake that was absolutely delicious — I wish I had the recipe! The owner and staff were also exceptionally friendly as well. Finally, everything was such an excellent value. I highly recommend stopping here when in Cahors!"

"We had just visited the valentine bridge and came back to the deck when we went to the garrigue. the fixed menu at 13 euros for the day was: soup, gizzard salad (smoke or duck), duck stew with rissoles apples, cheese, dessert and a bottle of ordinary wine between the 4 or us. the supper was laid on the table and we served – vegetable cream with crusts. We asked if two of us could get the salad without a gizzard. No problem! We were given a salad with smoked salmon - delicious (and apparently the gizzards were excellent too). Potato duck was served on a serving dish and we used ourselves - a very good idea because some of us already felt quite satisfied. Following a cheese tray was left to us and finally we were offered a choice of 3 desserts or a selection of ice or sorbets. wine was very acceptable and service excellent. our water carafe and our bread basket were replaced as soon as necessary and the waitress was extremely friendly despite the fact that the restaurant was full - all other guests seemed to be local, many of them were workers. we dined in the shaded outer area but would also have been able to eat inside. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and I will certainly return!"

"this restaurant offers an atmosphere, service and excellent cuisine to a good value for money. There were two fixed-priced menus that locally supply as much as possible. one cost less than the other, but both were ambitious and well designed. The night my sister and I had dinner, we tried a selection of the two menus. The mouthing was tiny muscles in a broth. My entrance was a silky and tasty artichoke terrine. my dorado net was cooked to perfection and served with fennel and mushrooms. the selection of local cheeses was generous and delicious. my sister had shrimp in parmesan with spring vegetables, lamb with spring vegetables, all delicious. its dessert was a rhubarb raspberry pie with a red pepper strawberry sorbet! our server explained the menu in English and was attentive. I recommend the restaurant to any person in the sarlat area or in the cahors area."

"Vraiment une belle surprise ! Cuisine simple gouteuse copieuse et très bonne. C'est pas le guide michelin mais c'est tellement mieux, familial, convivial et agreable sous la tonnelle de la glycine. Pas de double service. Réservation très souhaitée. Du local. Nous avons apprécié et le couple très gentil. Bonne continuation pour cette enseigne."

"Oh, my God, not a good experience. no table outside - fairly fair, we hadn't booked. We agreed to eat inside, but then we were shown a room upstairs that was a little oppressive. we asked if we could have a table near the window but we were told that it was reserved - we had been there for chandeliers - see below - and no one showed up. We tried to order tapas for the entries - but most of them were off. the replacement starter chosen by 2 of our group was also "off". I gave up an entry but others persisted - finally some arrived but not the swine shinks ordered by my husband - he had to go down and get a progress report. I had pity on the waitress who served us, even if we were of course polite. The main dishes finally arrived and were not bad - I had chicken that was rather dry but other dishes met more approval. However, at that time, we had a little bit of it and wanted to have chosen another place. honestly, the staff clearly realized that we had not had a good experience and another staff member came to apologize and offered us a free bottle of wine. I can see that others have had a much better time then maybe we haven't had a chance?"
