"For as long a I have been visiting this delightful capital city of the Perigord, an unpretentious restaurant in a corner of one of the old town's picturesque squares has supplied my lunch-time refreshment, rain or shine.The menu here never seems to change as the years roll by (which is good for me, as I am widely acknowledged to be the world's least adventurous diner). The service is rapid, even at busy times, and the freshness and quality of the food never disappoints. (With the possible exception of the little creepy, caterpillary substance which my wife found already dining on one of her salad leaves on our recent visit. But, hey, that can happen anywhere, can't it? There was plenty of the leaf left for her to eat, anyway, so I don't know why she made a fuss.)Under the shelter of Charlotte's striped awnings, one can savour a delicous crepe, think happy thoughts, and watch the world go by, confident that the bill, when it arrives, will not put undue strain on the holiday budget.It is more than five years since we dined here last, but some things never change, and I happy to say that this enduring little eatery is one of those."

A rainy day in Perigueux and the medieval guided walk brings you past this Creperie. Nicely decorated and clearly a favourite with the locals. The food is fresh, excellent and generous portions. We went on spec for lunch. Chose the 13 Euro menu. The starter was a lovely goat's cheese and smoked duck salad. We both had steak and fried potatoes for the main. The steak melted in your mouth, it was cooked to perfection. We had ice cream and chocolate pudding. Both excellent. Along with a carafe of rose it was one of the best meals out we have had for a while. The waiter was friendly with a sense of humour. Can't understand the poor rating.

Summer outdoor dining on a small square in the heart of the medieval city...what could be better other than an inexpensive three course lunch which was tasty and presented nicely. For 15 euros I enjoyed a small salad with warm chevre toasts, perfectly roasted and...juicy duck cutlets with a version of frites, a dessert of two profiteroles with fudge sauce and cream, and a glass of rosé. The place was busy, primarily with tourists, but that's to be expected when really hot weather keeps the locals inside.
