"We stumbled across this place whilst in Tavistock and decided to stop for breakfast. The interior is lovely and just what we were looking for. The food was lovely although maybe a little overpriced but I could cope with that. When we arrived the atmosphere was lovely and happy but it all changed when a lady that I can only presume is the owner arrived and it all changed. We could hear the lady bickering with staff and it really was not pleasant. However the thing that would stop me ever returning is the service charge!!!! I am always happy the tip, however I don’t agree with being forced to tip when food is already pricey and then when you pay the machine asks you for gratuity when people may not be aware they have already paid a service charge!! Will be going elsewhere next time."

"It has always been important to visit the restaurant during lunch or dinner, but this week was different! I had a platter with four exquisite Devon cheeses and a wonderful chicken and leek pie that was truly delicious, accompanied by some perfectly crispy roasted potatoes. I was also pleased that the salad came without dressing (which was provided on the side); it had a lovely variety and was very tasty. The welcome was friendly, even though we arrived with muddy boots from the rain and without a reservation. There was a great selection of drinks and a lovely fire to enjoy. I will definitely be returning!"

"This hotel offers quality accommodations and an excellent staff who create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They took care of our group of 14, providing comfortable rooms, a well-stocked bar, and a delicious three-course meal selected from a menu of dishes. The rooms were equipped with a bath and shower, as well as tea and coffee facilities with a biscuit for a final touch. The style of the hotel is reminiscent of Accor's charming MGallery brand. Located in the lovely town of Tavistock, it serves as a great base for exploring the area. Our group arrived via Okehampton Railway station, and took the convenient Rail Link bus 118 directly to the hotel. While Tavistock itself lacks a railway station, it has a nearby bus station within walking distance of the hotel. Parking is available at the hotel, but be sure to inquire about this ahead of time."
