"I have been wanting to visit Maddison's for some time. I didn't make a reservation and went on a Monday late morning, managing to snag the last table. We were seated in the Snug, a cozy nook in the coffee shop, which unfortunately was not very snug as it was quite cold and we had to keep our coats on. The menu had a variety of options, from breakfasts to baked potatoes, waffles, and crepes, as well as fresh baked slices. There was also a good selection of drinks and delicious coffees to choose from. Two of our meals arrived together, but we had to wait a bit too long for the final one. The waitress noticed and promptly followed up on it, although by that time we had already eaten most of our food as it was getting cold due to the draft in the room. The food was tasty overall, although the katsu was unexpectedly very spicy. The hot chocolate was excellent. The prices were reasonable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and apologized for the cold in the Snug, the food delay, and the lack of hand towels in the restroom. I would be willing to give this place another chance, especially since the tray bake in the photo looked amazing. For those driving, there is a large car park just 5 minutes away or a retail park further down the hill with plenty of parking spaces."

I haven't tried enough of their stuff to score higher than a 4, if I do I'll change the review. The breakfast is really tasty but the tea is a bit weak for my tastes. Overall I'd recommend it for a tasty decent sized breakfast.

I visited this restaurant for the first time today and had an amazing dining experience. The staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxed. It has definitely become my go-to friendly spot. I highly recommend it and can't find any faults.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. The staff is always friendly and welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. The menu is fantastic and the food and drinks are delicious. The coffee here is the best I've ever had. You definitely have to try the omelette!

I went to have breakfast today at this restaurant! The food was well presented, fresh, and there was a generous portion of it! The breakfast was amazing! The decor was beautiful and the staff was friendly. This is now my favorite breakfast spot in Consett and I will definitely recommend it to my friends!

This coffee shop in Consett is likely the best in town. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food is freshly baked on-site. I enjoyed a freshly baked scone with a hot chocolate, and this spot has become my favorite place to meet up with friends in a cozy atmosphere. A visit here is definitely worth it!

Went to Maddison's for a late lunch. On a sunny Friday. Ordered the Dirty Sweet Potato Fries with sweet chilli chicken cheese. Bought a raspberry ice cream milkshake as well. I really enjoyed It! However it was too much for one person. Was glad to have it packed for the rest later on. Very good seating at the back. Will come again some time.

The food at this restaurant is incredibly expensive. I ordered a full English breakfast and a latte, but was disappointed to find that the sausages were burnt and the scrambled eggs were rubbery. Despite paying nearly £10 for the breakfast, I did not feel it was worth it. The latte was the only thing I enjoyed. The total bill came to £13, and I have had much better meals at a lower price. I would not recommend dining here.

Do not go to Costa anymore! I stopped by with my wife for coffee and cake last minute and it was a perfect 10/10. The coffee and homemade cake were the best I've had in the UK, to be honest. It's a superb place that deserves a visit. The staff is lovely, the atmosphere is great, and the cake and coffee are epic. It's not expensive at all for the quality you receive. Stop going to the typical chain cafes and check this place out instead!
