"My husband and I just recently visited Mikoto and had truly an amazing meal. We ordered a variety of stuff as to try our luck but everything was amazing; from the starters to the main course (no dessert for us due to us being entirley too full) The sushi is truly exceptional as well as the salmon teriyaki. Even the drinks are good! Which is rather refreshing here in Stuttgart were restaurants do not seem to offer anything more than soda and juice and ofc beer; Mikoto has a lot more to offer! My take on the prices is that they are pricier than other great sushi spots I have been to in Stuttgart, therefore I would encourage €€€ instead of €€, but you are definitely getting your money's worth! In regards to how the location and its staff is: all in all good, the service was great, our waiter was really easy going which is always nice. However, a constant bother I appear to have in Germany is when restaurants insist on sitting you in a smaller table bc you are a smaller party. This was the same at Mikoto, which ofc makes sense due to limited space, but it would be great if staff would just let it be. The entire time we were there the table that was slightly bigger than ours remained unseated which would not have been an issue. Ofc a bigger party might have come, which is again why I understand but it would be nice if more restaurants were more easy going about this. It's always uncomfortable when your food doesn't comfortably fit in your table. This doesn't make the restaurant less great, it is just a less private place bc everyone is so close to eachother. TLDR: Great food, great staff and great drinks, tight space."

A cosy atmosphere, indeed but a bit pricey for the quality. Drinks are expensive but a good range. The food is well presented but not a lot of choices.

super delicious sushi. for me the best of the city. prices are a little higher than other sushi restaurants in stuttgart, but the price/performance ratio is true of all cases. service was good, eating and drinks came fast. Please note: in the case of reservation you have the table for 2 hours. is enough for us personally but completely.

We have family in Stuttgart and have visited Mikoto over the last 4 years. Our dinner last night was not good and the fall in standard was clear. The rice in the sushi rolls were compressed like the type you’d get in a supermarket, the spinach sesame salad had an overdose of sesame seeds and the Yakitori skewers were drowning in sauce. The sashimi was fortunately still fresh and this part of dinner was a joy. Mikoto still serves trendy crowd-pleasing food. The Avolcano with truffle oil was fun. However it’s no longer the go-to sushi restaurant in Stuttgart we once knew. We also had difficulties contacting the restaurant. No one ever picks up the phone. Electronic table reservations doesn’t m...

"Wow. Simply Awesome! Best dining experience my wife and I have had in several years, probably top all time, and we are real foodie snobs. They squeezed us in with only a couple hours notice. We got the course menu paired with wine....Little did we know that six courses in metric means First came the amouse bouse, a frothy chicken soup plus a croquette topped with dried mushrooms. Paired with wine of course. Then came a home made freshly baked baguette that was crazy delicious served with a dish of sour cream and chives as well as butter with pumpkin seeds. The bread was so good it could have been its own course, and the sour cream was the first of many unusual com I nations, but it worked. Next was a salad a combination of beet root, cabbage, Thai coconut milk and lemon grass. I hate beets and I loved this dish. Next wa the first actual course, duck liver pate and brioche with figs and wine sauce. Amazing! Now how about some slow cooked trout (which strongly resembled salmon) with tangerines and celery root. Then some white cod with Jerusalem artichokes and hazel nuts. Then, to cleanse the palate a glass of deer broth served in a glass like a brandy snifter. We're only halfway through. Now it's a slab of deer meat cooked like a tender steak, served with a cannelloni stuffed with deer and all set over mashed parsley root that could have passed as mashed potatoes. All garnished with an amazing deer gravy/sauce. Next comes some mont d'or cheese served with house made fruit bread, oranges, and rutabaga. Crazy com o but it was delicious. Now for dessert courses. Red wine sorbet. Think you're done? Next comes white chocolate ice cream serve with quince (purée, cubes, and foam) served with a chestnut parfait. Now we're stuffed, but time for another dessert: creme brulee paired with a chocolate brownie and a serving of mango mousse. Crazy good."
