My daughter,Jessica wanted to get pizza but according to them it was a christmas menu.She was stuck with manky chicken nuggets that looked like they are for morrisons. My daughter nearly got beaten up by an indian man. Luckily, Paul was there to save the...day. Tragic!

We went for Christmas dinner but were disappointed. Our starters were served late, after we had to inquire about them. The main course was mediocre, but we couldn't fault the dessert. Overall, it wasn't the experience we were hoping for and we won't be returning next year.

This is as much a pub as a restaurant and I would suggest if it is just a pint you fancy, pop in here. Good selection of drinks, even had our Drambuie, and although we did not sample the food we saw the portions were...very good and others were very happy with it. We WILL be back. Visualizza piatti

Popped into the Monkfield for a drink with some friends. Excellent service with chatty staff with a big smile. Very good value on the wine which two bottles were soon consumed. Met the Manager who was walking around chatting to everyone and making people welcome....All in all a excellent pub with great staff.

Visited on a Sunday night. Very friendly staff, interacted with of them over the evening. Good is to be coerced from an estate type of pub, but the salad was really good. Great separation of the pub area and the food part of the...pub. Felt like a proper local pub that welcomed visitors. Landlord was so friendly and welcomed us both into his place.

Me and my friend are not local. We popped in for a nice meal at to which we were told they would not serve us food as it was too busy so they decided to close the kitchen. We decided to sit and have...a drink as not knowing the area we didn’t know what else was local. We didn’t see any food come out whatsoever. Left feeling unhappy and unwelcome. Very disappointed. We booked a table for family dinner to celebrate our sons We were told kitchen wouldn't be open but we could pre book dinner to ensure it would be ready. Arrived to a warm welcome. Table had been set and decorated (without asking) with...balloons and banners which was a fantastic touch. Staff very happy, chatty and welcoming. Dinner arrived on time, huge delicious portions. Great service throughout. Absolutely could not fault food or service.

It wasn’t a good start to have someone relieving himself outside the front door. We walked into a very cool reception, half a dozen blokes watching football. Two other people were eating, they didn’t have our reservation (and I’d only phoned a couple of hours...ago), no roasts apparently they’d sold out. Didn’t have a good feel so we walked out. Thank goodness, the Indian restaurant just down the road was perfect. Not a good advert for Marstons.

Booked a Boxing Day lunch for the two of us. Once again excellent meal. The was a wonderful atmosphere in the Monkfield with lots of people laughing and enjoying themselves, adults and children alike having a great time. The service was very friendly with the...staff happy to chat with good humour. The meal was on time, important, with a large potions on each course, very important. For the value for money you just cannot go wrong. I would highly recommend the Monkfield for great food and staff alike. Visualizza piatti
