"We arrived as a group of 6 early to have a drink before our meal. The bar is small which we new as we have been here lots in the past, however the experience was not helped by 3 kids aged 5-6 in the corner, they where doing what kids do! so I have no complaint of them , its just not what i want when going out for an evening!! The staff are very pleasant, helpful and attentive when its not too busy but as the place filled up we found ourselves having to wait and catch their eye to order more drinks etc. There was about a 40 min wait for the food which generally i don't mind as I often think its going to be freshly cooked! 3 of us had the fish and chips which quite frankly was probably the poorest I have ever had in a dine in experience, the batter was soggy and dripping in oil, the chips where not home made and the liquidized peas tasteless, we all felt it was inedible! 2 had the chicken kiev and enjoyed it very much, 1 had the lamb special, 4 cubes of potato a few veg and a load of lamb bones with very little meat on them doesn't cut it im afraid. The staff where very apologetic and replaced the fish and chips, the other didnt want to make a fuss and just ordered a pudding to fill her up. They did give us our drinks free which was very kind of them and we did leave a tip for the effort of the young waiting staff. Just hope they can improve and it was just a bad night for them."

"My partner and I visited the Voujon restaurant for dinner on August 29, 2023. As first-time visitors, we decided to give it a chance. We reserved a table for two at 5:30 pm and upon arrival, we were welcomed by very friendly staff and seated at our table. There was only one other table of diners in the restaurant. We started with drinks and a couple of poppadoms, then ordered our main meal. The service and food were excellent. When we left at 7:30 pm, the restaurant was almost full of customers on a Tuesday evening. We will definitely be returning to Voujon in Corby on a regular basis. Highly recommended. Helen and John"

"I needed somewhere close to Weldon to pick up Fish Chips. My daughter searched on Google and found The Old Village Fish Chip Shop'. It was easy to find on the high street and there was plenty of roadside parking. The food was...freshly cooked to order and well worth the wait. [They serve Gluten free on Mondays] The gentleman was very friendly and accommodating as i requested each person's order in separate polystyrene boxes [which also kept them hot]. We had fish, battered sausage, plain sausage, fishcake, chips and peas. All of which were cooked to perfection. I have not had such tasty chips in ages. Great find and we will definitely be returning. [seating was also available for those that want to eat in' Many Thanks"

"We had a wonderful meal in a lovely setting. It's clear that this place is very popular with locals, as it quickly filled up with diners, which unfortunately led to slower service—they could really use a few more staff members! There were a couple of minor issues: when we ordered crab cakes as a starter, we were informed they were unavailable, so we asked for them to be removed from the order. However, when we went to pay, we noticed they were still on the bill. Instead of waiting for staff to address this in the busy atmosphere, we decided to let it slide. My partner was supposed to have carrots with his mackerel and new potatoes, but they never arrived, and one of the potatoes was overcooked and darker than the rest. However, once we mentioned these issues, we enjoyed the rest of our meal and evening. We would definitely come back, but hopefully when it's less busy, so we could address any concerns more effectively. "
