Wasps, wasps, wasps. If you have any aversion to wasps then avoid. Such a shame as it is a lovely place to go. They have lot's of traps dotted around the gardens but all the cakes were surrounded by them

We visit the tearooms at least monthly after a dog walk. It's a wonderful setting. The food is delicious particularly the scones (freshly made every day) the sausage rolls and my personal favourite the Bakewell. I'd like to specifically say that the staff work really...hard to make you feel welcome. Thank you

We were heading to Driftwood (see separate reviews), but the car seemed to take us to Stansted's Pavilion Tea Rooms. Same Caterers for both, so we had high hopes. Great Quiches with a good, properly dressed, Salad. Swift service. Their Historic', Lemon Meringue Pie had...run out last time we went to Driftwood. Just the right degree of tartness. Visited yesterday with s friend for afternoon tea. Greeted warmly and shown to our reserved table by the window. Staff attentive and friendly. The food was very tasty and nicely presented. Finger sandwiches on a platter, a plate of scones and a tiered cake stand...of delicious cakes. We also opted for rose prosecco to make the afternoon special. They also supplied boxes to take home and leftovers. Very reasonably priced. I would definitely ho again. Sorry forgot to take photos as too busy, eating drinking and chatting!

Talk about change! Food was still ok but not cheap but now you have to find a table, go outside and queue to put in an order but at least they bring it to your table. Queried this with a waitress who obviously wasn't impressed...by the new system either. Cannot blame the shortage of staff as plenty floating about but why should you sit fairly near the indoor counter kitchen then have to go outside to order. Be a long time before we go back there. The queue went right across the grass, elderly tripping on divets person with wheelchair trying to barge their way past. Total muck up. You certainly know how to lose trade!!

We were welcomed by a lovely friendly,smiley person called Becky and she interacted with our old Grandson as well when showing us to our table! Our afternoon tea table was dressed wonderful and the tea stands were also dressed with Christmas berries. The service...and food delivery was very efficient and the sandwiches,quiche and cakes were delicious and fresh. Nothing was too much trouble and we even asked for more tea to be served which was done promptly. We visited a couple of days later for lunch and was welcomed once again by a smiling Becky and she remembered us,seating us straightaway. Lunch was delicious and served very quickly,wonderful Christmas visits.

I've been coming here for years but the past two visits have not been to the usual standard. A month ago I had a cold jacket potato and my partners was also cold with his prawns looking like the cheapest of cheap. This time the...table was really sticky and we were all nearly passing out with heat. My friend had a cheese scone which wasn't warmed and was dry. I had cheese and pickle sandwiches but the cheese tasted really plastic and cheap. We all had different milk or cream to go in our drinks but they were just put randomly on the table so we didn't know whose was who. It's not the cheapest place which doesn't bother me but if paying a premium I like good quality ingredients and meals. The...

This was our first visit to stansted. Gardens and shops are lovely- well worth allowing extra time to explore first. We pre booked an afternoon tea and were quickly seated and served in the very pretty pavillion overlooking the garden. It was a bit noisy..., due to a large party with children right next us, but would probably be quieter on a weekday .. Food was lovely delicious sandwiches-excellent choice of fillings. We spent a lovely afternoon exploring the grounds and surrounding area before heading in for one of the tea rooms afternoon teas. It's a shame that some of the areas are still out of bounds (chapel, maize and main house) due to the pandemic but...hopefully this will be reviewed again soon. There's a maze, farm shop, garden centre, stately home and chapel to explore all within easy walking distance. The staff all seemed very friendly and welcoming on our arrival .
