A mustsee and musttaste restaurant located in Essen and it is full of delicious spanish tapas and desserts. Garden is very calm and warm, and service is fine... I highlight the fried icecream... Enjoy..

The location, atmosphere is really nice, but the food is not as good as you expect from a spanishstyle tapas bar. Almost everything that we ordered was canned. Roasted artichokes were taken out of a can? Olives are also from supermarket alike. Fish was ok

Ten of us came here during a commercial fair and had the best service out of any other restaurants all week. They had all of the food advertised. And once ordered it come quickly. THATS what service should be like. Not like some of the...other disasters we had. Not a single Spanish person in the building, but the food was reasonably good. Really a place to go in Essen. For me the best Spanish restaurant in Essen. Very nice service in a good location. All dishes are excellent and recommended. Unfortunately, parking is extremely difficultlimited. For dinner on the weekend I would recommend to reserve a table...upfront. Warm greetings to the restaurant manager. He is nice and flexible. Also in providing samples of interesting dishes

Dined here whilst visiting a friend who lives in Essen. We told the waiter to just bring us a selection of tapas could not fault his choice or the plates. Had garlic shrimp very tasty, sauteed chorizo, roasted mushrooms, potatoes. All were very tasty... allowed us to catch up whilst grazing away at the plates. Restaurant atmosphere is very casual so you can relax not feel you are interrupting other diners if you get a bit loud with laughter

What better way to finish the evening after walking some five miles through Grugapark on a cold, wet, and rainy day than by settling into a nice, cozy dinner at Pelayo, a Spanish tapas place. Okay, so the fake fire was not that special, but...it added to my moment. It was almost as good as Odyssia, but not quite. They did feature many lovely tapas, but they also offered main courses. I enjoyed the espinacas con gambas as a starter. However, since everything is a la cart, I had it brought to me with my meal, which was the salmon con gambas.
