"We found Villino by chance on our way from Germany to Italy......and what a find that was. In order to cut our long drive in half we decided to make a stop for the night in Lindau. The Hotel is located on a little hill...and the drive goes up a narrow road. First we thought we made a wrong turn...but then the Villino (small Villa) appeared. Ample parking and a very inviting lobby gave us already a fantastic impression. The staff was incredible and very accommodating. The room was small and cozy...but it was the last one available since they were fully booked. The room, bath, bed, view....everything top notch. My wife Monika and I were tired from the drive and therefore decided not to drive into town for dinner. Please keep in mind that we choose the Villino for the hotel and NOT for their restaurant. We stumbled into the restaurant not knowing what a gourmet temple it was. We found out that is was a Top listed restaurant in Germany and the cream of the crop. Boy oh boy what treat it was. The tasting menu was not inexpensive but worth every penny. EVERYTHING was perfect and too much to list. My wife and I constantly looked at eachother and could not believe what was happening to us: We were in seventh heaven. The best dinner we had EVER !!! We went to bed and had very pleasant dreams. We thought dinner was perfect and could not be topped.......but then we had breakfast outside in their courtyard. OMG what a wonderful breakfast. NO we should not call that a breakfast, it was more like a DREAM. Everything fresh, cooked, whipped or made to order. Everything tasted fantastic and we did not wanted to leave. LOL If you ever pass thru Lindau or the Bodensee area you MUST stay here or at least eat there. You owe it to yourself."

"Als Zugezogener aus dem Norden kannte ich die schwäbische Küche noch nicht und durfte sie hier kennenlernen. Der Koch beherrscht sein Handwerk wirklich gut und die Qualität der Produkte stimmt, was man an Kleinigkeiten sieht, z.B. gibt es hier nur lokale Biere auf der Karte und der Käse in den Kasspatzen kommt aus der Region. Speisekarte wechselt saisonal und ist kreativ, das Spargelrisotto war z.B. sehr gut, ebenso der klassische Zwiebelrostbraten. Service ist wirklich herzlich und aufmerksam, beim 3. Besuch kannte man uns beim Namen, seitdem bringen wir immer unsere Freunde, die uns besuchen, hierher."

"Wir waren Mittags dort und haben uns in den Garten gesetzt.Der Service (Chef?) war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und scherzte mit den Gästen auf eine nette Art. Unsere Getränke und die Vorspeisen wurden schnell gebracht. Der Zaziki war cremig und lecker, die gebratenen Pepperoni eine Wucht und der gebackene Fetakäse mit Tomate, Zwiebeln und Pepperoni einfach toll. Das Baguette war frisch u knusprig.Zur Hauptspeise haben wir Bifteki gefüllt mit Feta gegessen. Dazu gab es leckeren/lockeren Tomatenreis (nicht so trocken, wie so oft bei griechischen Restaurants) und ein kl. Schälchen Zaziki. Leider sieht das Gebäude von der Straße nicht sehr einladend aus. Das Essen und der Service sind aber ganz toll. Ein Besuch lohnt sich."

"My wife and I went first time to this restaurant after recommendation from the place where we stayed overnight, some 3 km away.The beer-garden was nearly full and there were only three tables left when we arrived at 6pm. We sat in the sun, order a glass of Kerner wine (which was excellent) and a typical bavarian Weissbier. The menu showed Spargel and my wife ordered the same with chicken and I had a "Zwiebelriostbraten" )beef fillet with roasted potatoes and fried onions). Food was very good, the beef nearly to the point - as I ordered medium, it was a little overdone - but tasty and of excellent quality. We ordered some more Kerner wine and, unfortunately, had tp wait about 10 minutes until we received the new filled glasses. Meanwhile the whole beer-garden was filled up with guests and a lot of people had to go inside the "Gasthof" to have dinner as there was no place outside anymore.We had for dessert a "Süssser Traum" which was a home-made apple strudel with vanilla ice-cream and hot chocolate sauce. Nice to see that it was served with two spoons and forks without asking for it. My wife and I enjoyed the dessert and were a little unhappy with the espresso served afterwards as it was too much coffee with little foam and had nothing to do with the italian espresso.The waitress, a lady at around mid 40s, and another younger waitress seemed to be a little stressed because of the full beer-garden and therefore, maybe, the service was not what we expected. Still, the lady serving us had her nose a little too high up."
