"pleasant place and decently priced. food was nice. tikka kushbu was nice but lamb was a bit tough. we also had syleti makhani which was also good but a teeny bit bland however this might just be the nature of the dish being a buttery mild curry. the side dishes of bombay aloo and chana masala were nice, rice was a good portion, the garlic naan was amazing, poppadoms came with some of the nicest dips i’ve had at an indian too. there’s an item on the menu, pretty sure it’s called ‘thali’ and it gives you a bit of everything on a platter, bit like a set meal. unfortunately they only do this monday wednesday and we went on a thursday. it would be a nice addition to see this as an item served every night but possibly for a higher price on busier days. staff were friendly and quick service although we were the only people there."

Lovely takeaway this evening. Everything so flavoursome, hot and freshly cooked. This has always been a good restaurant, I'd forgot they do takeaway too. Thanks Shah and the team, will be back for another takeaway.

First takeaway from Rayleigh Spicy. Delivered promptly. Food was really good. Crunchy bhajees. Lovely aubergine and veg curry. Lamb and chicken dishes so tasty. Accompanying chutneys and sauces good. We don't often go out to eat, or have takeaways but I shant look any further next time. Thank you

Group of us enjoyed the Thali evening here on Mondays. Service was fast and friendly, and the food was fantastic. The Thali consisted of a mini lamb dansak, mini chicken masala and a mini vegetable jalfrezi, naan bread and rice. There was plenty of food without any extra sides needed. The restaurant itself is fairly small and intimate, not that many tables so I'd suggest booking especially if you're a group larger than 4. It's somewhat dated but authentic and has evidently been a part of Rayleigh highstreet for many years. Highly recommend!

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at SoPa Thai, and it was truly a delightful experience! The moment I walked in, the atmosphere transported me to a world of Thai sophistication and allure. The culinary exploration began with Tom Kha, a delightful combination of coconut milk, galangal, and lemongrass. Each spoonful was a delicious harmony of creamy and zesty flavors that perfectly complemented the tender chicken pieces. It wasn't just soup; it felt like a warm embrace in a bowl. Next, the beautifully presented Green Curry arrived. The curry was a work of art, filled with the richness of green chilies and fragrant basil leaves. The vegetables were fresh, and the chicken was incredibly tender, all bathed in a sauce that was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. Then came the highlight of the evening, Pad Thai. The noodles were coated in a flavorful tamarind sauce, mixed with eggs, tofu, and a generous sprinkling of crushed peanuts. The dish was a delightful mix of textures and flavors that left my taste buds amazed. The grand finale was the Mango and Sticky Rice. The mango was ripe and sweet, a wonderful complement to the warm yet slightly salty sticky rice. Drizzled with coconut milk, this dessert was not just a treat but a festival of flavors. In summary, SoPa Thai is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary paradise. Each dish showcased the chef's expertise in balancing flavors and textures. If you're in search of an authentic Thai dining experience, SoPa Thai is the place to go. Their Tom Kha, Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Mango Sticky Rice take you on a journey through the heart of Thailand. I highly recommend it!"
