Lovely food great gluten free options. Had the festive menu, very nice reasonably priced. Staff as always very nice.

We stayed here for 2 night although we didn’t eat there. The staff on arrival were very friendly. The room was lovely and had everything we needed, even an iron and board. I would definitely stay there again

Great evening. We love the Red Lion. Our meals were lovely. Food and service all first class. Phil our waiter was absolutely tremendous. Wonderful character, who had us laughing all evening and looked after us brilliantly. He’s also a great dancer !! You can take the boy out of Cornwall !! Thanks to everyone at The Red Lion. Went with friends today celebrating two birthdays. Waitress didn’t look like she wanted to be there. Food was only ok, I had lasagne with garlic bread , which was so hard had a job to chew. Service was very slow considering there was only one other table there. Wasn’t even asked if we would like coffee. We had Sunday lunch here. Roast beef for one and pork loin for the other. The meat was cooked beautifully, as were the carrots, parsnips and broccoli. Great Yorkshire pudding! So, what was wrong? The gravy was 'generic ', no matter what flavour the meat. Why have stuffing and pork crackling with roast beef? Worst of all, the roast potatoes were soggy and cold! Oh, and £7 for a pint of IPA and a lime and soda!!

We regularly meet up with friends and family for a meal at the Red Lion whilst staying at the hotel. We find all the staff from reception, the bar and restaurant are always very welcoming and friendly. Last night the restaurant was particularly busy with Christmas parties but all the staff were working very hard to maintain the usual good service, in particular Rocio who went out of her way to help us. The Red Lion is very lucky to have these people at front of house.

I have previously given this restaurant good reviews, but unfortunately, my experience this time was not as good. When we arrived for our New Year's Eve lunch, we were not warmly welcomed by the female staff member who showed us to our table. She was borderline rude. We ordered our steaks medium to well done, but unfortunately mine was clearly rare and my husband's was only slightly better. He decided to eat his anyway. I called a staff member over, and my meal was taken back and a fresh one was presented.
