"This place was recommended by my guide book and as it was near my hotel, I strolled down to it on my first night in Salzburg. On entering, I was surprised to see that it was really quite downmarket a small area upstairs, another...down a few steps, wood panelling, no frills or fancies. No tourists either! My waiter was great so friendly and helpful. I followed his advice and started with potato soup. This was a hearty, tasty soup with various vegetables added: solid cooking, central heating for the stomach on a cold winter night. (This took place on a very cold, wet August evening). For my main course I had a turkey kebab. Good quality meat and vegetables, well cooked. A more than passable red wine accompanied the meal. This was my first visit to Austria for some time and I was shocked to see people (including staff when they were not busy) smoking. I presumed that by now, smoking in restaurants had been banned throughout Europe. On my next visit to Austria I'll enquire at local tourist offices what the situation is and will ask for a list of non smoking establishments. Overall this modest restaurant deserves three stars, but the quality of service from the waiter raises it to four."

Mein Lieblingscafe wenn ich in Salzburg bin. Immer ein kühler Schattenplatz, dort genieße ich einen Wiener Melange, bei herzlicher Bedienung. Immer wieder gerne.

Sehr nette Lage, direkt bei der Treppe zum Mönchsberg. Gut, wenn man etwas Ruhe braucht. Kleine Karte, mit typischen Speisen. Alles was wir gegessen haben war total lecker! Sehr freundliche Bedienung.

Came here after a Festival opera event, perfect as long as you like/love goulasch. Theirs is wonderful. But would be nice if there was more choice. Service was great, quality of food (goulasch) top notch, atmosphere just right. Love it, and will be back.

Ein nettes gemütliches Lokal mit einer großen Auswahl an Qualitativ hochwertigen Weinen, lokalen Bier, und besten Schnäpsen zum fairen Preis. Nicht zu vergessen ist auch das legendäre Gulasch dass es in Salzburg schon seit Ewigkeiten gibt, und jedes mal aufs Neue positiv überrascht ! Zum essen gibt es ansonsten traditionelle Österreichische Küche die auch zum angemessenem Preis angeboten wird.

We went in this place for a lunch with the whole family. We choose all of us "Hausgemachte Gulasch mit Gebäck". We thought was a nice choice. The taste of the Gulasch was good but there were just only three small pieces of meet, but...actually was immersed in a pool of Gulasch's sousage. We asked for more bred, of course we needed more and more to finish this pool of sousage, but actually the problem was that the coast of any small pece of bread was In our opinion was not a special bread but actually a classic one that you can find in any grocery store for for any peac. over, was for sure defrosted and not fresh. The most expensive bread and at the same time the very basic one I've never had...

In a place saturated with tourists, this restaurant stands out. It is a typical Austrian Gasthaus (pub). The atmosphere is more relaxed and less crowded (at least during my visit) than more touristy places. Service is excellent, yet prices are no different from those of...any similar restaurant that is not near a popular tourist site. Resch Lieblich is located near the footpath and funicular leading to the Hohensalzburg Festung (Fortress). If you are in the area and crave typical Austrian food, good service, and fair prices this is an excellent choice.
