"if they do not regularly travel to one of the numerous fairs and shows to düsseldorf and decide to book their hotel too late, they will never find this Greek restaurant in new. I will explain... when we decided to travel to the prowein 2015 to düsseldorf, every single hotel in the city was booked out so we had to try to find something close, within a taxi or a train ride. the available and not sinful expensive hotel was noticeable in neuss norf. the Greek restaurant karyatis is located near the railway station of this tiny suburban town. we were stumbled over when we returned from the first day of the weinshow. we were tired, hungry and it was right there. Around 23 o'clock the place was full of natives – we valued it as very good sign. the only part of the restaurant, which lies away from the usual tourist trails, is this missing any English menus. the personal also did not speak English and unfortunately none of us spoke German. in which, if not one of the masters and his wife, who would randomly speak something English, we would probably have ordered everything wrong. the menu was in German and Greek! but here ended the strange and confusing. when we sat down, we were served immediately shots by ouzo as a welcome drink – I found this a nice gesture. after consultation with the customer we ordered our appetizers and the main course. in a few minutes the waiter brought us fabulous German brot and butter. shortly after we got our appetizers... and then our main dish – eating was simply extraordinary! menu: if you can read Greek or German, there is a large selection of traditional Greek dishes with a hauch of European flair. the portions are huge and very close to those served in the usa. my friend had the shrimps in a tomato sauce as an appetizer and a pfeffersteak as a main dish. I had the mushrooms in a cheese sauce and a zipura table as a main dish. we finished our diner with a traditional Greek dessert – yogurt with honey and walnuts. every single dish was a dream! the garnel in a tomato sauce was very delicate and well balanced. my mushroom appetizers were quite good, but for my food something too rich – the combination of cheese and saw it almost made a main dish. While the pfeffersteak was absolutely great, the Zipura court was not from this world! They served all the fish, baked, with a little spinach and slightly burnt kartoffels. if they like seafood and fish, they just have to taste this dish! the open wine selection and the usual selection of German beer.Price: for the quality of the food and the beautiful ambiente the prices were quite reasonable. Direction: S11-Bahn in direction northen von "düsseldorf hbf" - it is exactly 42 minutes drive to neuss norf (nord). if you want to enjoy the delicious Greek food in düsseldorf or recently, karyatis should be on their gastronomic route!"
