"After consulting TripAdvisor and Yelp we trusted our gut and selected the Wintergarten located just on the southern end of the central riverfront cluster of establishments. As a result, we had one of the best meals of our week in Northern Europe. My daughter and I were seated at an open window overlooking the Mosel, and after studying the menu (English version available), we both selected prixe fixe 3-course options. First courses were the warm goat cheese salad (Ziegenkase mit Honig und Thymian uberbacken auf Blattsalaten)—excellent—and a smoked fish with hot Spargel (white asparagus – very good). Main courses were the pork medallions in Riesling sauce (Cochemer Schweine-Medallions), which were expertly prepared. For desert, we shared Apfel Strudel and a chocolate lava-type cake with fresh raspberries. Our server was attentive but unobtrusive, somewhat formal, and very good. The price wasn't cheap: 84 euro with beer only, but we both felt the meal was worth the price. Highly recommended."

Clean hotel with an average breakfast . lady of the house was very friendly, because of hotel being central in Cochem it was quite noisy during the night with loud tourists passing by.

there are really not many vegan options in the opposite, so it was great to find a place that not only had a labeled vegan dish, but had a really great! it is a jackfruit yellow curry with sweet and jasminreis. the jackfruit was perfectly cooked and the dish was well seasoned. it wouldn't have been better!

We went to this restaurant as it was recommended in the Rick Steves book. If you eat gluten free, I would be very careful what you order. I spoke with the waitress and she did not seem well-versed in what would be recommended for me. I stuck to safe potatoes and fish (ohne Mehl/ without flour). It worked out ok. My husband and kids enjoyed their food, but we had to wait a long time for that food to arrive.

Restaurant is part of hotel and has vegan options. We tried the curry which was very good. Also asked for alternatives and a pasta bolognese with tofu was suggested. Also that one tasted very good. They hava a vegetarian dish (vegetable lasagne) which we also ordered. Again good taste. As a desert we tried the sorbet ice cream which tasted and looked good. Also a cappuccino with soy milk was created on request (not in the menu) and this was also good. Restaurant has a nice view on the river.

We called in here for lunch on a day trip to Cochem, during our Rhine Valley/Koblenz 7 day holiday with National Holidays. We weren't sure if they were serving meals in the hotel dining room as it was empty but on enquiring we we assured they were serving meals and shown to a table at the window giving beautiful views of the river Mosel. There was a section of the menu in English which helped in choosing our meals.. The chicken breast stuffed with tomatoes and cheese on a bed of Asparagus Risotto was delicious. Staff were cheerful and attentive. The restaurant, cutlery, crockery and tablecloth were spotless. The prices were lower than I expected for the surroundings. Would recommend a visit.

Had two really nice meals at the Hotel Noss. This was recommended by the owner of our hotel. The first time we went we saw the tables on the first floor overlooking the river. It was a beautiful evening but unfortunately they were all reserved and we ate further inside the dining room. The kids meals were nice. My daughter was being really fussy but enjoyed here spag. Bolognese. My father in law loves steak and he rated it as the nicest he'd had in a while. We went back on the last evening having booked the centre table overlooking the river. Again food was good, but I was really hungry after a long day and I chose poorly when I would have liked a more filling dish. All in all, two great eve...

"I read some reviews and heard from friends that this was thé place to eat in Cochem am Mosel, so we were very excited to find the restaurant near empty on our arrival as we had expected a wait. There was nobody to greet us as we walked in so after waiting politely waiting at the entrance for a bit we decided to seat ourselves awaiting the the host, waiter/waitress to come and greet us.It took another 5 minutes for the waitress to show up. As soon as she showed up she kindly requested us to move from the cozy booth-like spacious table to a smaller wooden table. Since the entire restaurant was empty, with the exception of one gentleman and it was about an hour before closing we did not see her point to keep the large table for non-guests so we kindly declined. The frauleins entire attitude changed and we could hear her screaming and yelling in the kitchen to the chef. She then proceeded to vent her grief to the other patron in German. One might imagine her surprise when I kindly informed her that I was able to understand her conversations ( I am Dutch so I understand the language ) and did not appreciate her treating us this way. Being used to American customer service I do lower my standards somewhat but to be told smack about a semi-professional in a small town restaurant in the middle of nowhere is not something I accept. We were looking forward to taste the local food but were quite frankly concerned that this would come with some non-sanitary condiments."
